Yangjiang
Yangjiang is located on the southwestern coast of Guangdong, and is a famous coastal tourist city as well as the Knife and Scissors Capital of China. The core attraction is Hailing Island, home to Dajiao Bay,十里銀灘 (Shili Silver Beach), and the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum (Nanhai No. 1), offering experiences of azure sea, sandy beaches, and ancient shipwreck culture. Mawei Island is an excellent spot for sunset viewing, while Yangxi Shaba Bay retains the charm of an original fishing port. The local cuisine is primarily seafood, with steamed grouper, salt-and-pepper mantis shrimp, and stir-fried flower crab with ginger and spring onions being exceptionally fresh and delicious; a special snack, pork intestine rolls, uses rice noodle rolls filled with bean sprouts and vermicelli, served with sweet chilli sauce for a unique flavour; there are also Cheng Village oysters, wind ginger chicken, and ye jie (glutinous rice cakes), all showcasing the coastal flavours of western Guangdong.
