Zhuhai, abbreviated as Zhu, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, a special economic zone and the core city on the west bank of the Pearl River Estuary. It is also one of the cities covered by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Located in the south of Guangdong Province, Zhuhai borders Zhongshan to the north, Jiangmen to the west, Macao to the southeast, faces Hong Kong across the Lingdingyang to the east, and adjoins the South China Sea to the south. It has a sea area of 6,050 square kilometres and numerous islands, with 262 large and small islands, hence it is known as the 'City of a Hundred Islands'. Zhuhai is an important port city in China and a renowned coastal tourist city. With the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Zhuhai has become the only city in Mainland China that is connected by road to both Hong Kong and Macao. Historically part of the Guangfu region, Zhuhai is one of the key towns of Lingnan culture. Zhuhai's regional culture is an important part of Xiangshan culture, and the city's characteristics align with Guangfu culture. Zhuhai has a beautiful environment and rich tourist attractions. In the main urban area of Xiangzhou, there are Zhuhai Fisher Girl, Meixi Archway Tourist Area, Yuanming New Garden, Dream Water City, and Lovers' Road. The western area has Hai Quan Wan, Yu Wen Quan, and Jintai Temple. The Hengqin New Area has Three Waterfalls, while Tangjiawan area has Pearl Paradise and Gongle Garden. There are many parks in Zhuhai, mostly located on or near Fenghuang Mountain and Banzhang Mountain, which have now been transformed to be fully free of charge. They include Shijingshan Park, Bailian Cave Park, Seaside Park, Xiangshan Park, Paotai Mountain Park, Martyrs' Cemetery, Mingting Park (Ye Li Island), and Zhuxian Cave Park. In addition, there are many community parks in Xiangzhou District, managed by Xiangzhou District Zhengfang Community Park Management Co., Ltd. Moreover, Xiangzhou Greenway links the main roads of Zhuhai city area. The built Chimelong Ocean Kingdom opened in Hengqin in January 2014, simultaneously upgrading the tourism industry of Zhuhai city.
