Exploring Pine Ridge Conservation Park on the Gold Coast
Pine Ridge Conservation Park sits on Oxley Drive in Runaway Bay, Queensland. It protects one of the last remaining wallum banksia stands on the Gold Coast, featuring banksia woodland, heath, and paperbark swamp forests.
The park is culturally important to the Kombumerri-Ngarangwal people. Visitors can walk or cycle through the area. A sealed boundary track is suitable for prams and wheelchairs, while a sandy track runs through the heart of the park.
Plant life includes tall bloodwood trees, heath, and paperbark swamps. Wildflowers such as banksia, boronia, and the wallum wedge pea appear in late winter and spring, particularly after good autumn rains. Wildlife viewing includes lace monitors, koalas, bearded dragons, and birds such as sacred kingfishers, rainbow bee-eaters, and variegated fairy-wrens.
Facilities at the park include a carpark and a picnic area. Camping is not permitted. Disabled access is available, and visitors can contact the operator for details.
