Autumn brings a vibrant wave of cultural celebrations and arts events across the South Korean capital, offering travellers and locals plenty of ways to experience the city. The Seoul Metropolitan Government has published the Autumn edition of the Seoul Festival Map, highlighting major events running from September to November across the entire metropolitan area.

Four Thematic Categories for Autumn

This year introduces a brand-new night-characterised festival sector, bringing the total number of curated themes to four. Travellers can now easily plan their itineraries by browsing through night-specialised events, cultural tourism, performing arts, and traditional history programmes.

Night-Specialised Events and Music Festivals

The newly added night-specialised category features prominent outdoor gatherings taking advantage of the crisp autumn weather. The Seoul World Fireworks Festival is scheduled for 4 to 5 October around Yeouido and Ichon Hangang Park. Music lovers can also catch the Zandari Festa, a global rock festival running from 4 to 6 October near the Hongdae area.

Another highlight along the river is the car-free Jamsu Bridge Dabok Dabok Festival, operating every Sunday from 6 October to 25 October around Jamsu Bridge and Banpo Hangang Park. This weekly event features flea markets, food trucks, and live performances. Additionally, the Seoul Music Festival takes place on 24 October at Nodeulseom, blending K-pop and indie music performances.

Performing Arts and Traditional Culture

The performing arts sector includes the expansive Seoul Autumn Festa, which connects roughly 200 different performances and festivals throughout the city from 18 September to 29 November. Visitors can also experience Seoul Music Week, featuring musicians from 15 countries.

For those interested in traditional heritage, Namsangol Hanok Village hosts the Seoul Intangible Cultural Festival on 12 to 13 September, followed by the World Pansori Festival on 25 to 26 September.
