2026 Busan Gourmet Selection Kicks Off

The City of Busan and the Busan Tourism Organization have launched the 2026 Busan Gourmet Selection, a special culinary collaboration promotion running from June 4 through June 30. This initiative brings together prominent restaurant chefs in Busan to reinterpret signature dishes or jointly develop exclusive menus available for only one month.

Participating Restaurants and Collaborations

A total of 13 teams comprising 26 restaurants are participating in the event. The lineup features numerous establishments selected for the Michelin Guide 2026 Busan, spanning diverse culinary genres including Korean, Western, Japanese, Thai, and vegan cuisine.

This year, an open application process was introduced to allow any food establishment in Busan to participate, regardless of prior Michelin Guide selection. Specific details regarding collaboration menus, pricing, and reservation methods vary by restaurant, and visitors are advised to contact individual establishments directly.

Port Village Busan and Event Synergies

Selected participating teams are also operating booths at Port Village Busan, a major culinary festival held at Pier 1 of the Busan Port from June 4 to June 21. Designed around a mystical underwater village concept, Port Village Busan blends gastronomy, lifestyle, experiences, and performances into a complex cultural market expected to attract 200,000 cumulative visitors.

The event period coincides with the BTS World Tour Arirang in Busan concert scheduled for June 12 to 13. This overlap is expected to provide domestic and international concertgoers with opportunities to combine entertainment with the city's rich culinary content, encouraging longer stays and increased consumer spending.

Following a successful pilot run in late November and December of last year, the Gourmet Selection has been officially established as a regular biannual event starting this year. The second half of the year will feature the event in October, timed to coincide with Festival Siwol.
