Ramada Plaza Jeju Transforms into Sheraton Jeju Hotel
Travellers heading to Jeju Island will soon have a brand-new luxury option to consider as the former Ramada Plaza Jeju Hotel transforms into the Sheraton Jeju Hotel. Following an extensive 1-year and 8-month renovation project, the historic waterfront property located in the Tapdong reclaimed land area of Jeju's old downtown is ready to welcome guests once again under its new global branding.
Comprehensive Modernisation and New Facilities
Backed by the Korean Teachers' Credit Union, the extensive overhaul includes complete upgrades to all hotel facilities and a fresh internal layout. Guests stepping into the property will find redesigned first and second-floor lobbies, alongside revamped dining venues including buffet restaurants, cafés, and relaxed eating spaces.
A major highlight of the renovation is the addition of a brand-new outdoor infinity pool located on the third floor, designed to cater to wellness-focused travellers. Furthermore, all 402 guest rooms spanning from the third to the ninth floors have undergone a total refurbishment to meet contemporary comfort standards.
Enhanced Dining and Event Spaces
Alongside the room upgrades, the hotel introduces several new culinary concepts. Visitors can enjoy meals at the 'Daily Social' buffet restaurant, unwind at the '& More' lounge bar, or pick up treats at the '28g' bakery café. A state-of-the-art fitness club further complements the wellness offerings.
For business and large-scale gatherings, the property now boasts an expanded banquet hall capable of accommodating up to 1,500 people. Equipped with a massive 700-inch LED screen and advanced audiovisual systems, the venue is primed to host international conferences, corporate functions, and high-end weddings. Additionally, the hotel features Jeju's very first Marriott brand club lounge.
A New Chapter for a Historic Jeju Landmark
Originally constructed after the Korean Teachers' Credit Union acquired the 19,813-square-metre site on the western side of the Tapdong reclaimed land in 1991, the hotel broke ground in 1995 and officially opened its doors in 2003. For 21 years, it operated under a franchise agreement with Ramada Plaza managed by the credit union's subsidiary, The-K Jeju Hotel. With the rebranding decision finalised in 2024, the partnership with Sheraton marks an exciting new era for hospitality on the island.
