Autumn is the ultimate season for outdoor celebrations in Incheon. Right after the Chuseok holiday period, over 20 diverse local festivals descend upon the city during mid-October. From spectacular fireworks over the ocean and coastal cycling parades to pet sports days, vintage flea markets, and open-air concerts, Incheon offers an unparalleled lineup of events for autumn travellers.

Coastal Cycling & Fireworks on Yeongjong Island

One of the headline events taking place on 18 October is the inaugural Yeongjong Wind Trail Riding Festa, hosted by Incheon Jung-gu at Yeongjong Seaside Park. Designed to highlight the area's scenic 300-ri seaside bike paths, this parade-style cycling event lets participants ride along the coast while enjoying sweeping views of the sea.

The ride features two distinct courses:

* General Course (approx. 15 km): Starts at Haneul Gureum Square, passes the Seaside Park Sky Deck, and loops back to the starting point.

* Family Course (approx. 8 km): Starts at Haneul Gureum Square, passes the Incheon Bridge Memorial Hall, and returns to the start.

In addition to the main ride, visitors can enjoy unicycle performances, freestyle dance displays, martial arts demonstrations, children's fashion shows, and a coffee bike experience. Family-friendly activities include a flea market, food zones, kids' bike areas, and calligraphy sessions.

Starting at 6:00 PM, live performances feature popular Korean acts such as So Chan-whee, Mighty Mouse, and Hyun Jin-young. The evening culminates in the 2025 Yeongjong Fireworks Festa at 8:00 PM at Haneul Gureum Square, featuring a synchronized drone and fireworks display tailored to the coastal backdrop.

Retro Charm & Music: East Incheon Romantic Festival & Hwaan Sunset Festival

For those looking to experience local culture and history, East Incheon offers compelling options on 18 and 19 October.

East Incheon Romantic Festival

Hosted at the North Plaza of Dong-Incheon Station, this community festival revives the historic charm of East Incheon. Local merchants from Songhyeon Market, Jung-ang Market, and Baedari Craft Arcade present traditional street food and handmade crafts alongside busking performances by local artists.

* 18 October: Singing and instrument competitions for citizens, followed by an opening Romantic Concert.

* 19 October: Neighborhood sports day, quiz shows, a retro cinema screening with Milim Cinema, and a folk music concert.

Hwaan Sunset Festival

Located at Complex Cultural Space Hwaan in Hwasu-dong, this free event on 18 October combines classical music with a relaxed autumn atmosphere. Starting from 1:00 PM, visitors can browse a flea market with caricature artists and handmade accessories, or participate in ticket-goods crafting. The highlight is the Hwaan Rooftop Concert at 5:00 PM, featuring the i-Sinponietta chamber orchestra performing everything from Pachelbel's Canon to classical film scores.

Historic Alleyways & Civic Celebrations: Baedari & Incheon Peace Festival

3rd Baedari Festival

Running across 18–19 October (with extended events through early November), the historic Baedari district hosts alleyway photograph exhibitions, bookshop talks, and puppet shows detailing local industrial heritage. Unique highlights include a writing competition along the railway line and a fashion show celebrating a 49-year-old local tailor shop.

24th Incheon Peace Festival

Taking place at the Incheon Art Platform Plaza on 18 October from 12:00 PM, this festival focuses on community art and rest. Visitors can engage in peace bracelet making, eco-friendly crafting, photography exhibitions, and gender-equality board games. The main stage features dynamic live sets ranging from vocalists to jazz ensemble acts.

Songdo & Yeonsu Highlights: Neungheodae Festival, Pet Sports & Cycling

Yeonsu-gu hosts a cluster of massive events centered around Songdo Moonlight Festival Park from 17 to 19 October.

* 13th Yeonsu Neungheodae Cultural Festival (17–19 October): Celebrates the historical Baekje dynasty port of Neungheodae with ambassador parades, drone/fireworks displays, sports events, and a 30th-anniversary concert.

* 13th Yeonsu Eco-Friendly Bicycle Festival (18 October): Features a 13 km parade starting at 8:30 AM from Songdo Moonlight Festival Park, traveling past Techno Park Station and the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club coastline.

* 1st Yeonsu Dog Festival (18 October): Held at the Songdo Heyum Park Dog Park, featuring dog agility courses, fashion shows, pet massage sessions, and vet consultations.

Practical Tips

* Transportation: Most central events near Dong-Incheon Station and Incheon Art Platform are easily accessible via Subway Line 1. For Yeongjong Island events, use the AREX line or local feeder buses to reach Yeongjong Seaside Park.

* Event Registration: The Yeongjong Cycling Parade requires advance registration via QR code on the Incheon Jung-gu Office website (KRW 10,000 entry fee). Most other festival sites, including concerts at Hwaan and Cheongna Lake Park, offer free entry.

* Dress Code: Autumn evenings near coastal areas like Yeongjong Island and Wolmi Park can drop significantly in temperature; bring layered clothing and a warm windbreaker.
