Uncle Tom's Treehouse: Fairy-tale Forest Stays and Outdoor Play
Uncle Tom's Treehouse is a fairy-tale sanctuary hidden in the woods of Ganghwa Island, built for forest relaxation and outdoor picnics. The main highlights are the iconic treehouses perched high amongst the canopy like wooden bird nests. Each room spans around 5 square metres (1.5 pyeong) and features its own distinct character, architecture and whimsical name, such as 'Moon House' or 'Yawning Tyranno'. In total, the retreat hosts 10 stay units, including 8 unique treehouses and 2 cozy log cabins.

Children can explore a forest playground tailored around the natural topography of the woods. The play structures spark imaginative fun with unique features such as a witch broom-style zip line, a 2-on-1 see-saw, and a rope spiderweb. Apart from the slide, all play equipment is handcrafted from natural wood. Guests can also join creative workshops using materials gathered directly from the forest to craft wooden dogs, deer, or custom name telegraphy art. Every evening from 18:00 to 19:00, a bonfire gathering takes place near the workshop hearth, where visitors can roast traditional rice cakes (garaetteok) and marshmallows over the open flame.

Seokmodo Arboretum: Coastal Forest Trails and Ecological Gardens
Situated along the slopes of Nakgasan Mountain overlooking the waters off Ganghwa, Seokmodo Arboretum offers a sprawling haven dedicated to plant conservation and nature walks. The facility houses 1,176 plant species and approximately 140,000 individual plants spread across 12 themed zones, including an Ecological Experience Centre, an Alpine Wetland Garden, a Rock Garden and an Exhibition Greenhouse.

A standard visit follows a scenic 1.4 km one-way walking route starting from the Forest Interpretation Centre, continuing past the Ecological Experience Centre, and ending at the plant nursery. Walking at a relaxed pace, visitors can complete the circuit in about an hour. The paths feature comfortable palm-mat walking tracks and wooden boardwalk decks. Rest areas equipped with air conditioning and drinking fountains are located near the Ecological Experience Centre for comfort.
Guided forest commentary and specialized children's ecological programs are provided on-site. The guided commentary tours run twice daily in the morning (10:00–11:30) and afternoon (15:00–16:30), accommodating up to 30 participants per session to share stories behind the flora. For young visitors aged 5 and above, tailored forest interpretation and nature craft activities are available. Admission to the arboretum and participation in forest commentary or kids' programs are entirely free of charge.
Trini Yoga & Singing Bowl: Mindful Sound Meditation on Yeongjongdo
Trini Yoga & Singing Bowl is a peaceful space created for physical wellness and mental clarity through movement and sound healing. Alongside regular weekly yoga sessions held every Monday and Thursday, the studio organises specialized wellness activities tailored for holistic health.
Its signature wellness offering is 'Wandering Yoga' (Yurang Yoga), held early in the morning amidst the tranquil natural scenery of Yeongjongdo. These early sessions take place in picturesque local destinations such as Seonbawi Rock or Yedanpo, combining outdoor yoga practice and singing bowl sound meditation with tea time discussions and beach plogging (litter collection while jogging). Visitors interested in plant-based living can also sign up for programs like 'Yoga Brunch' or healthy vegetable cooking workshops. The studio also hosts unique half-day retreats integrating yoga with psychology discussions. Except for the routine Monday/Thursday classes, special programs take place once or twice a month, with schedules published on their website during the final week of each preceding month. All programs require advance phone reservation.
