On the first weekend of September, inside a chalet in Aravaca you'll be able to buy tableware, clothes, furniture, table linen... and entry is free.
Flea markets (and Madrid has plenty) are a good option for finding affordable second-hand furniture or simply for browsing. They appeal not only to potential buyers looking for antiques or home decor, but also to people leaving their homes who decide to part with furniture, tableware or even entire wardrobes.
That's the case of a chalet in Aravaca where, during the first weekend of September, everything will be for sale. And 'everything' in a house means the furniture, old coffee sets, tableware, glassware, embroidered tablecloths, paintings, decorative plates, coats... even record players and sewing and typewriter machines. Fragments of a life given the chance to become part of a new home, and pieces that would probably be very hard (if not impossible) to find in big retail stores.
The market is organised by Alma Market Home, which usually announces the locations and dates of its events through its social media. The Aravaca one won't be the first or the last, so those who already have plans on the first weekend of September will have more chances to find an addition for their homes at future markets.

Location, registration and tips for visiting the market
The market will be held at 38 calle Rosas in Aravaca (Aravaca district) on September 4, 5 and 6. Its opening hours are:
Advance appointments for Friday morning are sold out, but Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday will be open doors with free entry (as long as capacity hasn't been reached).
Payment can be made in cash or by card, and Alma Market Home recommends bringing your own bags to avoid excessive plastic use and, if driving, avoiding parking in front of neighbours' garage doors.
