Jakarta Transjabodetabek New Fares: SH1 Airport Bus Rp15,000, Feeders Rp2,000–3,500
The Jakarta Provincial Government and Transjakarta have formalized the fare structure for Transjabodetabek routes, moving key suburban express lines from trial to permanent operation.
Central Jakarta's transit network has entered a new phase of maturity: under updated regional transportation decrees, specialized Transjabodetabek corridors are transitioning from promotional and trial stages into fully integrated, permanent transit corridors.

The move is designed to manage regional transport subsidies while keeping mass transit affordable across satellite cities. Governor Pramono Anung stressed that fare decisions go through comprehensive cross-sectoral evaluation.
On the finalized tariffs, every decision is reached after thorough technical studies and public consultation, with the goal of maintaining strong public transit adoption while managing operational sustainability, the Governor said in a briefing.
Under the new structure, express lines connecting suburban hubs to international gateways — such as the Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport corridor (SH1) — are priced at IDR 15,000 per trip. Meanwhile, suburban feeder routes keep standard fares of IDR 2,000 to IDR 3,500, keeping daily commutes to the central business district affordable.
All Transjabodetabek fleets now use unified digital ticketing: tap-in/tap-out readers accept major bank e-money cards (Bank Mandiri e-Money, BCA Flazz, BRI Brizzi, Bank DKI JakCard) plus QR ticketing in the JakLingko app. Transfers between Transjabodetabek buses, MRT Jakarta and LRT within one journey are covered by JakLingko's integrated fare capping, which auto-calculates multi-modal discounts to prevent double charging.
PT Transportasi Jakarta CEO Welfizon Yuza clarified the difference between a price hike and structural fare setting.
Implementing established tariffs for specialized corridors completes their trial phase rather than marking a simple rate increase, allowing the operator to optimize fleet allocation, maintain headways and improve service reliability across Jabodetabek.
The fare calibration comes as patronage grows: express corridors regularly log over 55,000 monthly passenger trips, underscoring heavy reliance on direct, high-capacity bus service. Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head Budi Awaluddin highlighted the extensive policy research behind the framework.
The pricing structure incorporates input from transport academics, municipal studies and the Jakarta Transportation Council, striking a balance between user affordability and high-quality fleet upkeep, Awaluddin said.
By pairing targeted fares with expanding digital payment capacity, Transjabodetabek reinforces its role as a core pillar of Jakarta's integrated metropolitan transit network.
