17 Places to Snap Up Sweet Treats on the Gold Coast (2026)

Ring ring — your sweet tooth is calling, and it wants you to keep scrolling.

If you skip straight to the dessert menu, reckon a pastry counts as a meal, and believe there's no such thing as too much Nutella, you've come to the right place.

From gooey cinnamon scrolls and loaded cookies to creamy gelato, flaky pastries, decadent cakes and nostalgic throwbacks, the Gold Coast is packed with spots to scratch that sugar itch. Here are our picks, running north to south, that deserve a permanent spot on your dessert hit list.

Doughed

This doughy Graceland has brought all things soft and delicious to Hope Island Marketplace. Sweet or savoury — or both — this is your one-stop shop. From loaded croissants to crave-worthy doughnuts, every bite is, yep, you guessed it, dough-licious. The NYC Biscoff Cookie gets a special shout-out, but get in early because these sell like hot cakes.

Where: 99-103 Broadwater Ave, Hope Island

Franquette

Live around Tamborine and haven't wrapped your mitts around some Franquette yet? Time to reassess. Under master baker Jérôme Favier, Franquette satisfies hinterland cravings with authentic French-style sweets, rolls, scrolls and the ever-crescent croissant. Miam!

Where: 1/159 Long Road, Tamborine Mountain

My Favourite Baker

Aptly named, My Favourite Baker is a local lifeline for incredible last-minute cakes that look and taste anything but rushed. These everyday cake heroes offer same-day turnaround on a tempting range of cakes and cupcakes. The custom cupcakes are chef's-kiss good, and don't get us started on the Cake in a Can.

Basque

We've been giddy over Basque since this gorgeous bakehouse-cum-sippery arrived in Chirn Park in 2023 with mind-blowing cheesecake and French champagne. Best of all, there's no need to wait for a special occasion — the signature Spanish Cheesecake and champagne are both available by the slice and by the glass, any old time you please.

Where: 33b Musgrave Avenue, Chirn Park

Janus Deli

Dessert lovers, assemble — Janus Deli is bringing sugar in surplus. These retro-inspired spots sling Gaytime Doughnuts, matcha, white-chocolate-and-macadamia cookies and sea-salt maple cold brews. Beachside at Surfers Paradise or at the OG Molendinar bakehouse, one thing's guaranteed: your diet is officially on annual leave.

Where: 12 Hanlan Street, Surfers Paradise & Shop 14, Crestwood Plaza, 458 Olsen Avenue, Molendinar

Lune

This Melbourne-born superstar is famous for croissants that are far more than the sum of their parts — a precise balance of science and craft. Try the traditional croissant, pain au chocolat, almond croissant and lemon-curd cruffins. Worth the lecture from your dentist.

Where: Pacific Fair, Hooker Boulevard, Broadbeach

Yum Bakery

If baked goodies are your weakness, Yum Bakery is a dream come true. Cakes come in a host of irresistible flavours — vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream, Biscoff, Nutella, salted caramel, lemon curd and raspberry — alongside small-batch baked goods, sangas, cupcakes and pastries made with care you can taste.

Where: 2475 Gold Coast Highway, Mermaid Beach

See's Candies

The cult American chocolatier has landed on our shores and we're officially cocoa-crazy. Handpick your favourites at the candy counter or grab a ready-to-go box packed with buttery caramels, rich chocolate creams and old-school classics that hit the nostalgia button every time. Fair warning: stopping at just one isn't going to happen.

My French Pastries & The Petite Crepe

We love a chameleon, especially a French one. The team behind this GC favourite pride themselves on authentic, homemade croissants and traditional treats from the motherland — and they're now serving warm, fluffy crepes from the same spot under the name 'The Petite Crepe'. You're welcome.

Where: Shop 5/361 Robina Parkway, Robina

Paddock Bakery

One of the Gold Coast's game-changing cafes, Paddock Bakery consistently turns out jaw-dropping baked goods from one of the cutest mini-Queenslanders in town. Try the crowd-favourite freshly baked cookies, pastries or doughnuts — this OG local just keeps delivering.

Al Bacio Gelateria

Family owned, Italian trained, locally inspired — enough said. Al Bacio handcrafts gelato in-house from fresh, natural ingredients, learning the art along the Tuscan coastline. Hot tip: order the mascarpone, honey and walnut gelato, made with fresh mascarpone from the Byron Bay Mozzarella Co.

Where: 1840 Gold Coast Highway, Burleigh Heads

Tarte Bakery, Tarte Beach House & Tarte Tea Garden

All self-control tanks at the mere mention of Tarte. Local icon Chloe Watts' sweet-treat empire is the Coast's dessert darling, from the OG Tarte Burleigh to Tarte Beach House on Currumbin's picture-perfect creek. Fancy a high tea with blooms and boujee brews? Head to Tarte Tea Garden right next door.

Where: 2 West Street, Burleigh Heads and 2 Thrower Drive, Currumbin

Fuel Bakehouse

Need fuel to power through your day? From Burleigh and Currumbin to Cabarita and Pimpama, Fuel's bakers are our signature sweet talkers, with handcrafted pastries and fresh loaves doing the heavy lifting. Wash down an almond croissant with a perfectly brewed coffee and 9am feels a lot friendlier.

Where: 23 James Street, Burleigh Heads, 44 Currumbin Creek Rd, Currumbin Waters and 45 Tweed Coast Road, Bogangar

Custard Canteen

Is breakfast dessert a thing? We're officially calling it. If you're near the majestic Tallebudgera Creek, hot-foot it to Custard Canteen for great coffee, the iconic Eggs Benny on sourdough, and a finish of ooze-tastic cookies or a slice of lemon meringue Basque cheesecake.

Where: 1525 Gold Coast Hwy, Palm Beach

Public Supply

If cinnamon scrolls are your love language, you've just met your soulmate. Public Supply's scrolls are a rite of passage for any GC scroll lover, with a rotating line-up that includes vanilla custard and pistachio. Pair yours with a perfect coffee and savour every bite.

Where: 21 Stuart Street, Tweed Heads

George's Deli

A delicious Kingscliff resident, George's serves New York-inspired flavours with Filipino influences and a side of nostalgia. There's plenty of savoury on offer, but the handmade doughnuts are the must-try — the pink-iced Homer Doughnut is a nostalgia hit that lands right in the feels.
