Gardens by the Bay holds its crown as one of Singapore's most-visited attractions and was recently named the third-best in the world. Its futuristic Supertrees, gorgeous gardens and headline-grabbing events span everything from world-class art exhibitions to character-themed floral displays. Since the last major update in 2021, the gardens have welcomed a new immersive exhibition space, revamped their food hall and refreshed the upscale dining options.

There's still more coming: Bay East Garden opens in 2027, followed by a 5-hectare TeamLabs attraction in 2028, plus a new bridge linking to Marina Reservoir, a new food court and al fresco dining areas.

Built entirely on 250 acres of reclaimed land, Gardens by the Bay is now an iconic marker of the city's "City in a Garden" ambition. Its futuristic biodomes and surreal Supertrees are as photogenic as they are impressive.

Beyond the looks, the conservatories recreate climates you'd never experience in Singapore, letting you get up close to hundreds of exotic plant species, while the Supertrees double as a spectacular vantage point over Marina Bay.

Indoor conservatories and ticketed attractions

1. Cloud Forest

Step into the cool highland forests of the Cloud Forest conservatory, home to orchids, bromeliads and begonias. Begin at the top at "Lost World", where carnivorous pitcher plants thrive alongside moss and ferns, then descend through layers of mist along the cloud and treetop walkways to the stalagmites of Crystal Mountain and the enchanting Secret Garden. Don't miss the 35-metre indoor waterfall, the world's tallest.

2. Flower Dome

The Flower Dome is the second conservatory, where nine gardens showcase Mediterranean and subtropical flora. Get close to giant African baobabs, pose with a 1000-year-old olive tree in the Olive Grove, and wander the vibrant South African Garden.

3. Floral Fantasy

For a fairytale twist, head to Floral Fantasy near Bayfront MRT, where over 150 flower species hang overhead in canopy gardens and cascading floral installations. Four themed zones — Dance, Float, Waltz and Drift — culminate in a cave-like enclave of poison dart frogs and terrariums. Open daily 10am–9pm (last entry 8.30pm); book tickets online in advance.

4. IMBA Theatre

Singapore's first attraction dedicated to multi-sensory experiences, IMBA Theatre features a 20,000 sq ft zone with a 12.5-metre projection wall for immersive, interactive exhibitions, alongside wellness restaurant Foura serving nutritious Asian-European cuisine.

Free outdoor gardens and experiences

1. Supertree Grove

The Supertrees are a permanent fixture of Singapore's skyline. Entry to the 12-tree grove is free, while a modest fee unlocks the 128-metre OCBC Skyway and the Supertree Observatory's open-air rooftop views.

2. Garden Rhapsody light show

At night, the Supertrees host Singapore's most dazzling free show as 18 structures light up in a choreographed symphony of music and colour. Arrive 15 minutes early and lie back beneath the canopy for the best view. Shows run daily at 7.45pm and 8.45pm (about 15 minutes each).

3. Far East Organisation Children's Garden

Kids get their own zone with a water play area, fish sculptures, sway bridges, rainforest tree houses and a mini water park with motion-activated sprinklers. Bring swimwear!

4. Kingfisher Wetlands

This 15,000 sq m freshwater sanctuary near Satay by the Bay features streams, cascades and over 200 native mangrove trees, drawing kingfishers, migratory birds and the occasional monitor lizard.

5. The Canyon

Explore the largest collection of sculptural rocks at The Canyon, where ancient stones sourced from Shandong, China line a 400-metre dragon-shaped trail.

6. Sculpture trail

More than 40 art pieces are scattered across the gardens, offering something new on every visit.

1. Jurassic Nest Food Hall

Enjoy Michelin-rated hawker food — from Hawker Chan's soya sauce chicken rice to Tsuta's ramen — alongside hourly dinosaur shows featuring 15 animatronic dinosaurs.

2. Satay by the Bay

This 1,000-seat open-air food court recreates the old '80s Satay Club vibe with pushcart stalls and unbeatable Marina Bay views.

3. Marguerite

Set inside the Flower Dome, Marguerite offers a seven-course tasting menu by chef Michael Wilson, with handmade ceramics and open kitchen islands as a backdrop.

4. Hortus

A Mediterranean garden cafe inside the world's largest greenhouse, Hortus serves woodfire-cooked dishes like roasted pumpkin soup and grilled octopus — with complimentary Flower Dome access for diners.

5. Shake Shack

The seventh Shake Shack outlet brings the outdoors indoors with floral decor, plus outlet-exclusive concretes like Berries by the Bay and Tropic Like It's Hot.
