Free Open-Air Cinema in Saint-Denis 2026
From July 4 to September 4, 2026, the town of Saint-Denis is hosting a series of open-air cinema screenings in several neighbourhoods. Free and open to everyone, these screenings are part of the "Bel Été" summer programme, organised in partnership with the L'Écran cinema.
Every summer, Saint-Denis offers outdoor film screenings so residents can discover or rewatch a movie close to home. Unlike a festival held at a single venue, these screenings travel across the town's neighbourhoods while keeping the same ambition: offering cinema sessions that are entirely free and open to all.
The 2026 edition is organised in collaboration with the L'Écran cinema. Before screenings begin, the town invites residents to take part in the programming by voting for the film shown in their neighbourhood. A selection of around twenty films is on offer, and each sector has its own online vote.
The first screenings are scheduled from July 4, 2026, followed by a series of sessions from August 19 to September 4 across several Saint-Denis neighbourhoods. The sectors involved include Franc-Moisin / Bel-Air, Joliot-Curie / Lamaze / Cosmonautes, Hirondelle / Joncherolles-Fauvettes / Tartres, Delaunay-Belleville / Semard, Allende / Mutuelle / Saussaie / Floréal / Courtille and La Plaine / Stade de France. The exact screening locations are announced by the town before each session.
The concept is built on free, ticketless open-air screenings — viewers settle in outdoors to watch a feature film as night falls. These sessions welcome families, groups of friends and local residents alike, and are part of the "Bel Été 2026" programme, which brings together a host of cultural, sporting and leisure activities during the school holidays.
