Gold Coast G:link Extension Opens August 9: Your Ultimate Guide to 8 New Tram Stops

The wait is finally over — the Gold Coast's eagerly anticipated G:link Stage 3 extension officially begins service on Sunday, August 9, delivering eight brand-new stations along a 6.7-kilometre stretch between Broadbeach South and Burleigh Heads.

The journey from Broadbeach South to Burleigh Heads takes approximately 17 minutes, bringing the full tram network to roughly 27 kilometres. That means you can now travel seamlessly from Helensvale all the way down to Burleigh without ever needing to touch your car keys. The extension also introduces five new trams, upgraded pedestrian and cycling paths, and fresh bus interchanges in Miami and Burleigh.

Mermaid Beach

The first stop after Broadbeach South, offering easy access to northern Mermaid Beach, the shoreline and the dining strip along the Gold Coast Highway.
