Paris Hosts European Aquatics Championships in the Seine This August — High Diving is Free to Watch!
The spectacular high-diving events will be visible for free from the banks of the Seine.
For the first time since 1931, Paris is hosting the European Aquatics Championships, running from July 31 to August 16 between the Seine River and the Saint-Denis Aquatic Centre built for the 2024 Olympics.
Two disciplines will take place right in the Seine in the heart of Paris: 5 km and 10 km open-water swimming (August 4, 5, 7 & 8) around the Grenelle arm and Île aux Cygnes, and high diving (August 7 & 8) from the Bir-Hakeim bridge.
To watch the open-water races, you'll need a ticket priced at €11, which also grants access to explore the entire Île aux Cygnes. The breathtaking high-diving events, however, will be visible free of charge from the Seine quays.
Pool swimming races kick off on August 10 at the Saint-Denis Aquatic Centre, where French fans are hoping for victories from four-time Olympic champion Léon Marchand and three-time world champion Maxime Grousset — both currently in rehabilitation after injuries.
