The Gangchon Rail Bike is one of the most popular outdoor activities near Seoul, favoured by families and couples alike. The former Gyeongchun Line railway was transformed by the Korean government into the current Gangchon and Gyeonggang Rail Bike paths, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery while travelling through mountains and valleys. Unlike cycling on land, the rail bike passes through tunnels and over high bridges, following the train tracks and offering a unique landscape experience. This feeling of "crossing mountains and valleys" is truly thrilling!

In Korea, the most popular rail bike route runs from Gimyujeong (김유정) Station to Gangchon (강촌) Station. Along this route, you can enjoy landscapes featuring mountains and rivers, as well as various themed tunnels. One of the most exciting sections is the tunnel playing "Gangnam Style," where colourful beams of light flash alternately. Once inside, everyone can't help but dance the horse dance to the music. Korean entertainment shows such as Running Man, Dad! Where Are We Going?, and 1 Night 2 Days have all filmed here.

The Gangchon Rail Bike is a popular activity on Nami Island, where visitors can cycle along the tracks of the old Gangchon Rail Park while enjoying the stunning views of the 318km‑long Bukhangang River. Travelling along the same route that the Mugunghwa train has taken for 70 years, you can experience a piece of history! The Gimyujeong Station route is about 8.5km long. The first section (6km) takes approximately 50 minutes, with a rest stop that offers a convenience store and restrooms, where you can take a break for about 10 minutes. You can rest there or grab a snack at the self‑service restaurant. Visitors in the same batch must depart together, so be sure to keep to the departure time and remember your bike number when getting off.
