)
Don't just chase after Kyoto and Fuji for Japan's autumn scenery! Hidden within the Chubu Sangaku National Park, Kamikochi is an autumn‑limited autumn foliage hidden gem. Set in a magnificent alpine valley at an altitude of 1,500 meters, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the entire valley puts on its new autumn attire from late September to early November. Red maples, orange leaves, and golden woods overlap layer upon layer, painting a stunning mountain landscape. It is the ultimate healing scenery for Japanese autumn. No self‑driving or transport planning needed; take a comfortable bus directly from Tokyo to effortlessly unlock a classic Japanese autumn foliage itinerary.
)
The soulful scenery of autumn in Kamikochi is hidden between the reflections of mountains and water. The crystal‑clear Azusa River winds through the valley, and the calm Taisho Pond is as clear and bright as a mirror. Colorful maples are reflected in the water, blending the mountain views, red leaves, and turquoise water into one, rippling in the breeze to create a healing picture. Every frame is a fantastic photo spot. The itinerary carefully selects three must‑visit autumn attractions, allowing you to fully enjoy the hidden scenery in one go.
)
Kappa Bridge | Classic Landmark of Kamikochi: As the symbol of Kamikochi, this is the best viewpoint for overlooking the Hotaka Mountain Range. Surrounded by autumn maple forests and majestic mountain views complemented by multi‑layered autumn foliage, it offers an expansive, blind‑spot‑free view to easily capture stunning Japanese‑style scenery masterpieces, making it a must‑visit photo spot on the itinerary.
)
Taisho Pond | Mirror Maple Reflection Wonderland: Famous for its exceptional mirror‑like water views, the surrounding woods bloom brilliantly in autumn. Both the red leaves and the majestic Mount Yakedake are reflected on the lake surface, seamlessly integrating mountains, water, and maples into one. The tranquil and dreamy atmosphere fully showcases the gentleness of autumn.
)
)
Myojin Pond | Therapeutic Autumn Secret Spot: Hidden amidst a tranquil forest, the pond water is serene and peaceful, far away from the bustling crowds. The surrounding maple leaves gradually change color with the autumn vibe, and the quiet environment paired with colorful autumn scenery provides a calm and healing autumn experience, perfect for slow walks, relaxation, and quietly appreciating the autumn light.
)
Mountain autumn temperatures are cool, with the average maximum temperature only reaching 13°C. There is a large temperature difference between morning and evening, and the weather is changeable. We thoughtfully recommend layered clothing, comfortable walking shoes, and preparing a jacket, fleece, and rain gear to easily cope with the mountain weather. The itinerary supports flexible drop‑offs, allowing you to choose to get off at Taisho Pond, Kamikochi Imperial Hotel, or Kamikochi Bus Terminal. The return buses uniformly depart from the Kamikochi Bus Terminal, making itinerary planning flexible and worry‑free.
)
Early bird limited offers are counting down! Direct bus travel throughout, no transfers needed, departure guaranteed. No need to make guides or rush, immerse yourself in the beauty of Kamikochi's autumn maple forests and landscape, and embark on an autumn romance exclusive to central Japan.
