In every major city, everyone dreams of finding a paradise away from the world. On the nearest island to Guangdong — Xiachuan Island, Taishan, Jiangmen — there lies a charm you have never known. This is a "holiday paradise".

Among the four temptations of Guangdong's resort islands — the "food temptation" and "outlying island temptation" — Xiachuan Island, hailed as the "Phuket of China", also offers breathtaking sunset sea views, where the evening glow shines in harmony with the city lights, and the reflection of silhouettes complements the palm‑fringed beach, with the blue sea deepening from shallow to deep.

On Xiachuan Island, coconut palms grow in abundance. Visitors can enjoy the scenery and listen to the waves, swim in the sea, surf, sail, or fish. Facing the vast ocean, you can let yourself go — the layers of waves unfolding before your eyes make you sigh that this is a sea meant for daydreaming. Here, you will find the most beautiful sunrise over the sea.

From Da Shui Tang Bay to Wang Fu Zhou, the tree‑lined boulevard is an important leisure waterfront promenade along the coast, stretching about 3 kilometres.

Passing through beaches such as Da Shui Tang Bay, Nan'ao Bay and Wang Fu Zhou, you can listen to the waves and admire the sea along the way, or tread the waves and play in the water. Lush coconut palms line both sides of the road, and you can enjoy healthy, chemical‑free coconut water almost anywhere!

The most captivating attraction along the leisure path is undoubtedly Wang Fu Zhou. Located on the southern side of Xiachuan Island and nestled among three sides of picturesque peaks, its tranquil bay and intoxicating coconut groves have earned it the title of "China's Pattaya"~

Stroll along the swaying coconut palm paths, feel the sea breeze blowing towards you, listen to the waves crashing against the rocks, and let your tense mind unwind.

No words about summer can compare to being here, facing the sea — come and encounter the "Hawaii of the East"~

Qianfan Biwan Seaview Hotel on Xiachuan Island, Taishan, enjoys an excellent location — coconut groves and sandy beaches for non‑stop fun all in one place!

Sea‑view rooms offer direct views of the ocean

Explore Xiachuan Island to the fullest — the island boasts endless coastal scenery and charming sea breezes among the coconut palms. Here, you can tread the waves and play in the sand, watch the sunrise and sunset by the sea, and savour fresh, lively seafood waiting for you.

When you arrive at the pier and disembark onto the island, you will need to take a shuttle to the scenic area and hotel. Along the coast stretches over a kilometre of coconut groves — strolling beneath the palms with the sea breeze in your face is a truly unique experience.

Here, you can choose from four hiking trails: the Sea View Trail, the Countryside Trail, the Leisure Trail, and the Adventure Trail. Hiking or cycling through them covers most of Xiachuan Island — perfect for a 2‑day, 1‑night trip along the coast, up the hills, and across the fields, totalling over 40 kilometres.

Each of these four trendy trails has its own unique character. Pick the one you like and take your time exploring as you go.

Sea View Trail

With the gentle sea breeze accompanying you, wind your way along the coastline. In the distance, you can see beautiful island views, original fishing villages, the Chuandong Pier fishing village, the pier, ecological farming bases, and sandy beaches — all within sight.

At Niu Tang Bay, jagged rocks of various shapes line the shore. Standing on the rocks by the sea, you can see the water surging dramatically — but do be careful and stay safe.

Da Wan is the best spot on the island for watching the sunrise. The beach is shaped like a crescent moon — it truly looks incredibly romantic.

Not far from Niu Tang Bay lies Niu Tang Village, which exudes the charm of the Republic of China era. With its white walls and dark tiles, neatly arranged houses nestled against the hills and facing the sea, and wisps of cooking smoke rising from chimneys, it resembles a beautiful, hidden paradise.

Admire the island scenery, watch the tides rise and fall, spot fishing boats dotting the sea, and take in the rural idyll. Hiking: 4.5 hours | Cycling: 1.5 hours

Leisure Trail

From Da Shui Tang Bay to Wang Fu Zhou, the tree‑lined boulevard is an important leisure waterfront promenade stretching about 3 kilometres.

Passing through beaches such as Da Shui Tang Bay, Nan'ao Bay and Wang Fu Zhou, you can listen to the waves and admire the sea along the way, or tread the waves and play in the water. It is ideal for family outings, and you can also hike or cycle — a great place to unwind and relax.

Lush coconut palms line both sides of the road, and you can enjoy healthy, chemical‑free coconut water almost anywhere!

The most captivating attraction along the leisure path is undoubtedly Wang Fu Zhou. Located on the southern side of Xiachuan Island and nestled among three sides of picturesque peaks, its tranquil bay and intoxicating coconut groves have earned it the title of "China's Pattaya".

Stroll along the swaying coconut palm paths, feel the sea breeze blowing towards you, listen to the waves crashing against the rocks, and let your tense mind unwind.

The water activities here are incredibly varied — you can rent a jet ski or a rubber dinghy and ride the waves in the sea, kicking up splashes of foam.

On the beach, you can also catch crabs, collect seashells, build sandcastles, drive beach buggies, or play beach volleyball.

You can also set off fireworks, enjoy a barbecue, or join a bonfire party at designated areas.

Here, going out to sea to fish is also a way of life. At the Marine Ranch Pavilion, you can fully experience the joy of fishing.

Squid rest at the bottom of the water during the day and swim to the upper layers to feed at night. At that time, choosing waters with clear seas and hidden reefs allows you to catch squid.

Wander along the beautiful coastline and splash in the waves to your heart's content. Hiking: 1.5 hours | Cycling: 0.3 hours

Adventure Trail

Starting from the Wang Fu Zhou scenic area, the trail climbs steadily upwards in a series of steps — this is the Adventure Trail, and it sounds thrilling indeed.

Following the mountain path through the forest, you ascend to Guanyin Mountain, where the rolling green hills unfold before your eyes in all their beauty, along with breathtaking views of the bay below.

The best perspective of Xiachuan Island is probably from the summit of Guanyin Mountain. Standing at an elevation of 434 metres, you can look down over the entire island — endless blue stretching into the distance, with lush, verdant green right beside you.

Challenge your personal limits, marvel at the peculiar peaks and exotic rocks, explore the butterfly valley and bird forest, and take in panoramic views of the island. Hiking: 4 hours | Cycling: This section is not suitable for cycling

Countryside Trail

The Countryside Trail is best enjoyed on foot or by bicycle. Along the straight Chuanzhong Avenue, you are greeted on both sides by warm and natural rural scenery.

Extending further on both sides are the original ecological villages of Xiachuan Island. Unlike the city, here you can experience the simple and honest local customs and traditions.

Explore the original ecological villages, admire the white walls and green tiles, and savour the rural charm. Hiking: 2 hours | Cycling: 0.5 hours

Getting to Xiachuan Island — Transport Guide

Attention self‑driving travellers! When navigating to Xiachuan Island, your destination should be "Shanzui Port".

As the passenger ferry only carries passengers, motor vehicles need to be parked in the carpark at the port. Shanzui Port Terminal Port Affairs Carpark (a bit hard to find) charges: $37/night/vehicle. The largest carpark charges: $60/night/vehicle (for reference only; actual charges are subject to the on‑site carpark rates).
