About the Park

Kaohsiung Shou Shan Zoo is the largest public zoo in southern Taiwan, providing multi‑functional services for families, outdoor education, ecological education, and tourism for residents of Greater Kaohsiung as well as central, southern, and eastern Taiwan. The zoo is divided into six areas: the Asian Zone, the Americas Zone, the African Zone, the Primate Zone, the Taiwan Native Animals Zone, and the newly established "Children's Farm." The visitor route is well planned, and the Children's Farm is the first of its kind in a domestic zoo, featuring free‑range cute and gentle animals. Under the guidance of staff, visitors of all ages can get close to, touch, and feed the animals, allowing them to experience a pastoral ambience and charm right in the Greater Kaohsiung metropolitan area.

Opening Hours:
Tuesday to Sunday 09:00 ‑ 17:00 (Last entry at 16:30)
Closed on Mondays and Lunar New Year's Eve; if Monday falls on a public holiday, the zoo will be open as usual.

Admission Fees
Full Ticket: NT$40, for visitors aged 18 to 64
Concession Ticket: NT$20, for visitors aged 6 to 17 with valid identification
Free Admission: Please refer to the official website for eligibility criteria; valid identification must be presented on‑site.

Park Services

Zoo Zoo Bus
Operating Hours: First departure at 09:20, last departure at 16:20. Closed every Monday and on Lunar New Year's Eve; if Monday falls on a public holiday, the service will operate as usual.
Ride Duration: Each ride takes approximately 15 minutes. On weekdays, the bus departs once full; on weekends and public holidays, buses depart every 20 minutes.
Fares: Free for children under 2 years old or infants in arms; children under 120 cm must be accompanied by an adult.

Children's Farm Feeding Experience
Opening Hours: Every Tuesday to Sunday at 10:00 and 14:00, forage grass will be distributed on‑site, while supplies last.
Experience Details: The forage grass distributed on‑site is for feeding the Boer goats in the Children's Farm only. Please follow the instructions of on‑site staff and comply with the posted regulations.

Located right next to the zoo entrance, it welcomes you with the aroma of coffee! Enjoy light meals and coffee in a cosy space, hop on the Zoo Zoo Bus mini train, and don't forget to take home an exclusive souvenir before leaving the zoo!

Light Is Café
Kaohsiung Shou Shan Zoo has transformed the former iron cages of chimpanzees into a pure white building, "Light Is Café." With a focus on perspective‑taking, it lets visitors step into the cages to see things from the animals' point of view. The café serves Chinese, Italian, and Thai cuisine, and its white interior with natural lighting makes it incredibly photogenic.

For unused Shou Shan Zoo tickets within the validity period, a 10% handling fee per ticket will be charged for refunds. Please contact customer service to apply for a special cancellation request.

Transportation Guide

Public Transport:

Bus Route 56 (Shou Shan Zoo Special Line)

1. From the train station → MRT Yanchengpu Station → Zoo → MRT Yanchengpu Station → Train station 

2. Boarding at MRT Yanchengpu Station: Exit through Exit 4, turn right onto Wufu 4th Road, and take Bus 56 in front of Hua Nan Bank. 

Light Rail: Take the light rail to Wenwu Shengdian Station → walk to Gushan Road, turn right and go straight → take Bus 56 at the Wenwu Shengdian Light Rail Stop (near Taiwan Power Company). 

By Car: From National Highway 1 (Sun Yat‑sen Freeway) → Jiuru Interchange → Jiuru 4th Road → Hua'an Street → Gushan 2nd Road → Xinlong Road (Yuanheng Street) → Car Park → Zoo From National Highway 1 (Sun Yat‑sen Freeway) → Zhongzheng Interchange → Zhongzheng 4th Road → Dagong Road → Gushan 2nd Road → Xinlong Road (Yuanheng Street) → Car Park → Zoo From National Highway 10 → Cuihua Road Interchange → Cuihua Road → Hua'an Street → Gushan 2nd Road → Xinlong Road (Yuanheng Street) → Car Park → Zoo
