In Thai culture, performing good deeds (known as "accumulating merit") is highly important, as it is believed to bring blessings and protection. Donating coffins is considered a significant act of merit, as it helps the deceased transition peacefully to the afterlife, and it is believed that such virtuous acts will bring good fortune and fulfil one's wishes.

Our staff will arrange a coffin donation ceremony for you at the renowned Eire Tek Sian Tong (義德善堂) in Bangkok, a temple with a long history of incense offerings and blessings. The merit donation will be recorded in your name, symbolising your heartfelt contribution.

According to tradition, after the ceremony, the donation receipt will be burned to signify that the donation has been offered to the deities. Our staff will ensure the entire process is recorded via video/photos/livestream, and will provide you with photos of the certificate and receipt for your records, ensuring the ceremony is completed smoothly and successfully.

Yide Charitable Hall (Eire Tek Sian Tong) is a charitable organisation responsible for "saving the living and honouring the dead". Its staff are mainly volunteer civilians who work together to maintain the operation of the hall. The founder was an overseas Chinese from Chaozhou, who has since passed away; his contributions to Thailand were significant.

The founding purpose of Yide Charitable Hall, apart from general "aid for the poor", is most notably its "assistance with after‑death arrangements", particularly for unidentified bodies and impoverished families unable to afford burials. The hall gained international recognition after the Phuket tsunami, when Yide Charitable Hall immediately demonstrated the spirit of "caring for others as oneself", promptly assisting with on‑site and post‑mortem arrangements.

Thai people believe that donating a coffin, allowing the deceased to pass peacefully to the other world, is a great act of merit, and they also believe that "that person" in the unseen will bless them with their heart's desires! This is because many who have previously donated and received help have found solutions to their problems through invisible forces, leading to thriving incense offerings here — just as the Taiwanese saying goes, "People act, Heaven watches!"

For coffin donations, you must first go to the counter to donate and receive two receipts — red and white: write your name and donation amount on the red receipt; volunteers will write your name on the white receipt.

After completing the coffin donation merit at Bangkok's Yide Charitable Hall, the agency staff will obtain the complete merit certificate and donation receipt for you, proving that the virtuous deed has been successfully accomplished.

The red receipt is affixed to the coffin, followed by sincere prayers for one's wishes to come true.

Holding the white receipt in hand, bow in sequence to the deities, carefully stating what you wish for and how you intend to fulfil your vow, etc. Currently, Yide Charitable Hall does not provide incense burning for worship; instead, candles can be purchased on‑site (50 THB per set; prices on‑site may vary).

Inside Bangkok's Yide Charitable Hall, devotees pray devoutly before the Buddha statues, with solemn statues and offerings displayed in the hall, making wishes on behalf of faraway coffin donors.

After worship, the white receipt is taken to the incense burner in front of the deities and burned, symbolising an invitation to the deities to hear the prayers.
