Haeundae Blueline Park Introduction

(Haeundae Blueline Park)is located in the Haeundae Tourism Special District in Busan, South Korea. It is one of Busan's most representative eco‑tourism redevelopment attractions. With the core concept of "revitalising old railways and coexisting with the coastline", the park has transformed the idle Donghae Nambu Line old railway facilities through an eco‑friendly and ecological upgrade, turning them into an international‑level coastal leisure and sightseeing corridor in Busan.

The park's coastline spans 4.8 kilometres in total, with the route connecting three major coastal sections: Haeundae Mipo → Cheongsapo → Songjeong. It preserves the historical texture of the old railway while incorporating stunning views of the East Sea, coastal walkways and seaside green spaces. It is one of the few one‑stop attractions in Busan that combines "historical railway culture + pure coastal nature + relaxing sightseeing experience", and is also a landmark facility within the Haeundae Tourism Special District.

Unlike ordinary city parks, the biggest feature of Haeundae Blueline Park is the operation of two exclusive sightseeing experiences along the dedicated tracks of the seaside railway: the Haeundae Beach Train and the Haeundae Sky Capsule. These are currently the most popular activities in Busan for social media check‑ins, sunset photography, family leisure and couple trips.

Two Signature Sightseeing Experiences

1. Haeundae Sky Capsule

Busan's most popular aerial coastal sightseeing facility and the signature highlight of Blueline Park. The Sky Capsule is a colourful transparent aerial carriage, available in four macaron colours — blue, red, yellow and green — with a dreamy and unique design that is perfect for photo‑taking and social media check‑ins. The carriage is suspended on an elevated track 7‑10 metres above the ground and travels along the section from Mipo to Cheongsapo at a slow speed with completely unobstructed views.

During the ride, you can enjoy 360‑degree views of Gwangan Bridge, the Busan coastal skyline and the endless blue East Sea. The blue sky and sea views during the day are refreshing and healing, while the sunset reflecting on the sea in the evening is incredibly romantic. It is a must‑try experience for couples travelling in Busan and for influencer photography, and is also one of the most talked‑about classic Busan experiences on social media platforms.

2. Haeundae Beach Train

A sightseeing mini‑train that runs along the full 4.8‑kilometre coastal railway. The train travels at a leisurely pace and is designed specifically for sightseeing rather than as a means of commuting. The train runs close to the coastline, passing through woodlands, seaside walkways and coastal tunnels along the way, connecting the distinctive scenery of Mipo, Cheongsapo and Songjeong stations.

Taking the Beach Train allows you to easily enjoy the full coastal scenery along the route, taking in Haeundae's urban sea views, fishing village landscapes and seaside green spaces all at once. It is ideal for elderly visitors, families and travellers who prefer not to walk, allowing you to explore the entire Haeundae coastline comfortably and effortlessly while experiencing the unique charm of an old railway transformed into a sightseeing corridor.

FAQ

Waiting and Late Arrival Rules (Most Searched to Avoid Pitfalls)

Q:How late can I be before I am not allowed to board? Is there a refund for late arrival?

A:If you arrive at the station 30 minutes after the train has departed, you will not be allowed to board and no refund will be issued. The departure time of the last train is strictly enforced; arriving late will result in the ticket being forfeited.

Opening Hours, Seasonal Differences and Rain Arrangements (Must‑read for Trip Planning)

Q:What are the opening hours of the Beach Train and Sky Capsule in different seasons? Will they be extended during peak season?

A:There are three periods: winter, shoulder season and peak season. During the peak summer months of July and August, the facilities stay open the latest. During peak season, opening hours may be flexibly adjusted according to visitor flow. The final schedule is subject to the official website's announcement on the day.

Q:Will the service stop during rain or typhoons? Does it operate normally in light rain?

A:The trains operate normally during light rain. In the event of heavy rain, typhoons or other severe weather conditions, the facilities will suspend operations without refunds or rescheduling compensation.
