Departing from Tokyo, easily explore Izu's famous autumn scenery

Step into the autumn‑rich atmosphere of Izu and embark on a autumn journey combining autumn leaves, fruit picking and Japanese cuisine! Departing from Tokyo, head to the Shuzenji Onsen town, known as the "Little Kyoto of Izu", to enjoy both daytime maple forest hidden gems and dreamy evening maple illuminations, paired with all‑you‑can‑eat mandarin orange picking at Izu Fruit Park, plus a seasonal autumn set meal, experiencing the unique charm of Japan's autumn appetite.

Along the Katsura River in the historic Shuzenji Onsen street, the maple leaves gradually turn red with the autumn breeze. The stone‑paved paths, serene bamboo groves and hot spring cottages complement each other beautifully. The Katsura Bridge crossing the stream is a classic photo spot, with its bright red bridge contrasting against layers of crimson maple leaves, making every shot a stunning Japanese autumn scene. Wander around Shuzenji Temple and Dokko‑no‑Yu, and immerse yourself in the leisurely atmosphere where historical sites blend with nature.

Next, visit the maple forest at Shuzenji Natural Park. Over a thousand maple trees in the park burst into shades of orange‑red and golden yellow, forming a spectacular leafy tunnel. The afternoon sunlight filters through the branches, casting dappled light and shadow—a hidden gem for photography enthusiasts.

If the daytime maple views aren't enough, head to Shuzenji Nijino Sato in the evening for the night maple festival! The park, featuring gardens of diverse international styles, is home to 2,000 maple trees. During the seasonal autumn illumination event, the lights cast a glow over the maple leaves, with reflections of the red leaves resting quietly on the pond surface. The Japanese garden area is dreamlike and poetic, offering a completely different romantic nighttime maple‑viewing experience.

No trip is complete without autumn fun—head to Izu Fruit Park for a mandarin orange picking experience! The abundant sunlight in Mishima cultivates sweet‑and‑sour juicy mandarins. Pick and eat on the spot with no time limit, wander through the golden orchard and enjoy the joy of harvest.

Beyond maple viewing and fruit picking, savour the seasonal autumn delicacies. Choose between the aromatic matsutake mushroom flavoured set meal or the sweet and generous snow crab Japanese set meal, and experience the feast for your taste buds in the season of autumn appetite.

The prime autumn foliage season in Izu falls from mid‑November to early December. The maple season passes by in the blink of an eye, so book this one‑day tour departing from Tokyo to take in all of Izu's autumn scenery at once!
