The autumn wind sweeps across the mountains and forests of Kansai, and red maple leaves blanket the ancient lands of Nara! Departing easily from Osaka, this tour combines World Cultural Heritage sites, classic ancient temples, popular deer spots, plus a seasonal fruit‑picking experience ‑ all in one go. Take in the stunning autumn foliage of Kansai and create an unforgettable autumn journey.

The first stop is Nara Park, home to over a thousand gentle sika deer. Stroll along the forest paths and interact with the deer up close. Autumn maple leaves and golden ginkgo trees drift down in turn, creating a stunning picture of red leaves, ancient temples and leisurely deer ‑ perfect for capturing Japanese‑style autumn foliage shots. The adjacent Todaiji Temple, a World Cultural Heritage Site, houses the world's largest wooden building, the Great Buddha Hall, with its awe‑inspiring 15‑metre Great Buddha of Nara. The autumn colours around Kagami Pond and Nigatsu‑do are in full bloom, with red leaves framing the thousand‑year‑old temple, offering a unique atmosphere where history and nature blend together.

Next, head to the hidden autumn leaves spot of Tsubosaka‑dera Temple. This ancient temple with over 1,300 years of history is nestled on a mountainside, known for its famous Great Stone Buddha and vermilion three‑storey pagoda. In late autumn, the entire mountain forest is dyed in fiery red maple colours. Stone steps wind through the autumn leaves, and climbing higher offers panoramic views of layered autumn scenery ‑ a must‑visit autumn leaves spot for photography enthusiasts.

Continue to the World Heritage Site of Mount Yoshino ‑ with a thousand cherry trees in spring and ten thousand acres of red maples in autumn! The trail from Shimo Senbon to Oku Senbon offers rich layers of autumn colours, with maple, zelkova and beech trees weaving a colourful mountain landscape. Walk along the ancient pilgrimage path and quietly enjoy the autumn atmosphere of the mountains away from the crowds, experiencing a completely different charm from the spring cherry blossom scenery.

At the end of the tour, enjoy the autumn‑exclusive orange picking experience. Step into a fruit‑scented orchard, hand‑pick fresh seasonal sweet oranges, taste the juicy flesh on the spot, and experience the joy of rural Japanese fruit picking.

No need to plan your own transport or rush between transfers ‑ travel directly from Osaka to multiple attractions in one go, combining the pleasures of ancient temples, deer, autumn leaves and fruit picking. Seize the golden period of autumn foliage from mid‑November to early December, and book this Kansai autumn leaves one‑day tour!
