Sleep No More is the signature work of Punchdrunk, the pioneering British immersive theatre company. The production reimagines Shakespeare's classic tragedy Macbeth in a way that is visceral, tangible and stylised like a film noir, inviting audiences to explore the performance space freely, thereby creating a bespoke experience shaped by each individual's unique path and perspective.

Sleep No More Seoul transforms Daehan Theater in Chungmu‑ro, a landmark of Korean culture and arts, into the McKithan Hotel. This grand world, set in the 1930s, has been realised on an astonishing scale, boasting over 100 rooms and making full use of the theatre's soaring spaces. Created in collaboration with the Punchdrunk creative team, Sleep No More Seoul further expands the experience, delivering a richer and deeper immersive journey for audiences.

Manderley Bar Guide

After checking in at the McKithan Hotel, your journey will begin and end at the Manderley Bar. This bar remains open throughout the performance for you to rest at any time.

Each ticket includes one welcome drink from the Manderley Bar, available in alcoholic or non‑alcoholic versions. Additional drinks can be purchased at the bar. Please note that outside food is not permitted.

Matinee 14:00: to 16:30

Matinee 15:00: to 17:30

Evening 19:00: to 21:30

Welcome drinks can be collected up to 30 minutes before the end of the performance.

Maximilian's Circle and Ruby's Guest include seating at the Manderley Bar. Specific seats cannot be chosen at the time of booking. Seats are pre‑assigned based on the booking account, so please note that multiple bookings made under different accounts cannot be seated together. Due to seating arrangements, cancellations, refunds or date changes are not permitted on the day of the performance.

The 2nd and 3rd floor seats at the Manderley Bar are reserved exclusively for Maximilian's Circle and Ruby's Guest. Please note that when purchasing a single Maximilian's Circle ticket, you will be seated at a four‑person table on the 2nd floor and may share the table with other guests outside your party. If you purchase two Maximilian's Circle tickets, you will be assigned a two‑person table on the 2nd floor.

The McKithan Hotel Visitor Guide

Sleep No More, performed at the McKithan Hotel, is an immersive theatre production that breaks down the boundaries between stage and audience, with no dialogue throughout.

You will explore a complete sensory world at your own pace, experiencing different scenes in a non‑linear way as the story unfolds around you. The viewing duration is flexibly arranged based on your entry time (approximately 2‑3 hours), and there is no fixed seating in any performance space except for the Manderley Bar.

You will explore the hotel in your own way, and after the performance ends, you are free to remain in the Manderley Bar.

Strictly no entry for persons under 19 years of age.

All guests may be required to show proof of age upon entering the hotel. Please bring a valid form of identification (e.g. passport, Alien Registration Card, etc.). Please note that age cannot be verified by visual inspection.

Entry time for this performance varies depending on the ticket type you purchased. Please enter the hotel according to your designated entry time and follow the instructions of the staff.

Depending on on‑site conditions, there may be a waiting period. We recommend arriving at the hotel before your entry time. Please note that, depending on the progress of the performance, latecomers may be restricted from entering.

Guests are permitted to leave the hotel during the performance. However, once you leave, re‑entry will not be allowed.

You will be required to wear a Punchdrunk mask. This mask is different from any medical mask you may choose to wear.

The Punchdrunk mask can be worn with glasses, but for greater comfort, we recommend wearing contact lenses.

Please do not bring personal items such as bags or coats into the hotel. A cloakroom service is provided for you to store your personal belongings before entering the hotel. (Large luggage such as suitcases cannot be stored in the cloakroom.)

Due to the nature of the performance, you will be moving around the hotel, including up and down stairs, so we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes.

For your safety, please do not wear high heels or loose‑fitting footwear such as sandals. If you are wearing unsuitable clothing or footwear, you may be restricted from entering.

Cancellations, refunds or date changes on the day of the performance for this reason will not be accepted. The audience member shall bear full responsibility for any injury or accident caused by inappropriate clothing or footwear, and the production team shall not be held liable.

After the performance begins, you may become separated from your companions. Please do not talk to other audience members during the performance. Except under special circumstances (such as audience members with mobility impairments, pregnant women, etc.), staff will not assist you in finding your companions.

All items within the McKithan Hotel are valuable property of the hotel. Unauthorised removal or private possession of hotel property is strictly prohibited under any circumstances. Any violation may result in immediate recovery of the item and restriction of your future use of the hotel. If a performer personally hands you an item during a special moment, you are welcome to keep it.

The use of electronic devices, including mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets and cameras, is strictly prohibited inside the hotel. After entry, photography, videography or audio recording is forbidden without prior consent. Upon entering the hotel, staff will provide you with a sealed phone pouch and keep it safe for you, and it will only be opened when you leave the hotel. Please cooperate with staff inspections. The hotel is not responsible for lost items.

Any inappropriate behaviour within the hotel, including but not limited to verbal abuse or physical confrontation with cast or staff, interfering with the performance, damaging sets or props, or failing to follow staff instructions, may result in corresponding penalties or immediate ejection from the venue. In such cases, tickets will not be refunded.

Under no circumstances will persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs be permitted entry. Additionally, if a guest is already intoxicated or excessively drunk and causes discomfort or disturbance to others, they may be penalised or asked to leave the hotel.

The hotel does not have a dedicated car park. Traffic around the hotel is extremely congested, and parking may take a significant amount of time. The hotel is very close to Chungmuro Station (Lines 3 and 4), so we strongly recommend using public transport. If you plan to use parking facilities, please check nearby parking options in advance. (Parking fees will be charged according to each facility's pricing policy.)

Audience Guide

This performance deals with themes such as family tragedy, murder and revenge. You may encounter scenes of violence, gore and nudity. Please consider these factors when purchasing tickets and viewing. You are free to choose where and what to watch. If you find a scene uncomfortable, you may move to another area at any time.

Additionally, clothing may get dirty or damaged during the performance, and the production team accepts no responsibility for this. Please consider these factors carefully when purchasing tickets and be mindful of your own safety while watching.

This performance contains intense effects such as strobe lighting, laser effects, high‑volume sound and stage smoke, all used to enhance the theatrical experience, and some areas are dimly lit.

All materials used in the performance are harmless to humans; however, if you are sensitive to dark environments, odours, smoke, noise or intense visual stimuli, please consider carefully before purchasing tickets.

As audience members need to move around the venue during the performance, please pay close attention to your surroundings while walking.

We do not recommend this performance for individuals with conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, back or neck problems, panic disorder, anxiety disorder, claustrophobia or epilepsy.

It is also not recommended for pregnant women or individuals who may be sensitive to intense sensory experiences.

This production features choreography with significant physical movement. For the safety of cast and audience, please always maintain a reasonable distance from the performers.

Please do not make any physical contact with the performers during the performance. Excessive or deliberate contact may result in immediate removal from the hotel.

Please note that the cast for each performance will not be announced in advance. The cast list can be viewed on site after the performance ends.

If the performance cannot proceed as planned due to force majeure or other objective reasons, the company will only be responsible for refunding the face value of the ticket. No additional compensation will be provided for any other losses or damages.
