When visiting Daegu, the iconic landmarks you must not miss are the towering 83 Tower and E‑World Theme Park. Just like Seoul's Everland and Lotte World, it is a must‑visit spot for couples and tourists alike for sightseeing and dating!

Introduction to E‑WORLD

E‑WORLD is a highly representative theme park in Daegu. It opened in March 1995, and the entire park features a European urban architectural style. The castle, waterfalls, flowers and other landscaping within the park are all crafted with great detail and charm, making them incredibly beautiful and photogenic.

E‑WORLD has many highlights. Besides the rides, exhibitions and art performances, the most famous is taking the cable car up to 83 Tower at night to enjoy Daegu's stunning night view! The spring night cherry blossoms are also a major event every year, attracting many visitors.

Fun rides, eye‑catching photo backdrops and dazzling light shows make it undoubtedly the top choice for couple dates. This is also the filming location for the Korean drama "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok‑joo"! Everyone visiting Daegu must not miss it!

Transportation to E‑WORLD

image.png

Getting to E‑World is quite simple. Just take Daegu Metro Line 2 to "Duryu Station"; after arriving at Duryu Station, exit through Exit 15, and it's about a five‑minute walk from there.

image.png

The station also has signs indicating the exit directions. Even if you can't read Korean, it's fine ‑ just follow the English signs saying "E‑world" and you'll be on your way!

image.png

Ticket Redemption

image.png

After exiting the metro, walk straight ahead and you'll see E‑world. The ticket booth is on the right‑hand side facing the entrance. For those who booked tickets online, simply present your e‑voucher at the Annual Membership Service Center next to the ticket counter!

image.png

Then you'll receive the E‑world admission wristband and the 83 Tower observatory ticket (if you purchased a combo ticket, that is~). The wristband is waterproof, and once worn, just show it to the staff when entering and boarding rides.

Introduction to E‑world Park Facilities

Locker

image.png

Upon entering, you'll see lockers on the left. They're very thoughtful, so you don't have to carry all your bags while enjoying the rides (of course, it's best not to bring them on the rides). The lockers come in large, medium and small sizes ‑ large 2,000 / medium 1,000 / small 500 (KRW / use). But remember, the lockers only accept 500‑won coins!

Gift Shop

image.png

After storing your belongings, you're ready to enter the park. The theme park also has gift shops selling various cute trinkets, and of course, the essential cute animal‑ear headbands are a must‑have. Seeing rows upon rows of adorable headbands displayed in the shop really made the editor's heart flutter!

Ride Area

image.png

After purchasing tickets and entering the park, you can take the escalator to officially enter the park! Once you step into the plaza inside, you'll see the towering Daegu Tower. If you visit during the cherry blossom season in late March to early April, the sight of cherry blossom trees lining up with Daegu Tower is truly spectacular!

image.png

The park is divided into four zones: FANTASY World, Magic World, Adventure World, and Dynamic World. With all the rides combined, you can't finish them all even in one day!

Introduction to Popular Rides in the Park

image.png

MEGA SWING 360 can be considered one of the most popular and thrilling rides at E‑WORLD. Later, because RUNNING MAN filmed here and used MEGA SWING 360 as the ultimate final punishment, it attracted even more thrill‑seekers to visit.

It's a popular ride that always has super long queues. Besides the terrifying height, not only does the disc part rotate 360 degrees, but even the supporting arm rotates 360 degrees. Watching from below made the editor's heart race, and I absolutely didn't dare to try it (sweat). If you love excitement, don't miss it!

image.png

Sky Drop, as the name suggests, means dropping from the sky (just kidding) ‑ it's actually a free‑fall ride! Standing at a whopping 103 metres, Sky Drop is the tallest free‑fall ride in South Korea. As you ascend, you can overlook Daegu's cityscape ‑ what a pleasant view ‑ and then experience the thrill of high‑speed descent along with Daegu's scenery~ And since Sky Drop is right in front of 83 Tower, it's also quite a spectacle to watch from the 83 Tower observatory!

image.png

Another super thrilling ride. Actually, E‑WORLD has tons of thrilling rides. TOP SPIN is a giant spinning swing that rotates wildly at 360 degrees. It's not only one of the most queued rides among young people but also a favourite among thrill‑seekers.

image.png

Everyone has probably seen this ride on Korean variety shows, right! TAMBOURINE has appeared in both "Running Man" and "We Got Married". Don't underestimate it just because it looks flat and doesn't flip over ‑ many people can't hold on and get thrown off! A reminder for ladies: make sure to wear trousers for this one! Otherwise, you'll lose control and won't even be able to worry about any wardrobe malfunctions.

image.png

The editor personally thinks E‑WORLD's haunted house is worth visiting! It's in no way inferior to the haunted houses in Japanese amusement parks. They really put effort into scaring visitors, and it's one of E‑WORLD's most famous attractions.

However, please note that the haunted house only allows two people per entry, so pay attention to the size of your group~ If you have an odd number, you can always strike up a conversation with strangers, or bring a friend for a second round.

E‑World 83 Tower (Daegu Tower)

image.png

83 Tower has 83 floors in total, but the usable floors are the 1st to 3rd floors, the 77th floor, and the 83rd floor. Floors 1‑3 house many restaurants, cafés and an ice rink. The 77th floor is the 83 Observatory, while the 83rd floor is a Western restaurant. If you only purchased an E‑WORLD ticket on‑site, the observatory ticket costs 10,000 KRW flat. It's also possible to just visit the observatory without going to the theme park ‑ there are shuttle buses at the theme park entrance running between the park and 83 Tower.

image.png

The cable car at E‑WORLD goes directly to the plaza in front of 83 Tower. You can see the boarding point shortly after entering the E‑WORLD entrance. The cable car offers a panoramic view of the entire E‑WORLD and Daegu cityscape. The editor suggests taking the cable car up to 83 Tower and then taking a leisurely stroll back down. Alternatively, if you're just going up for a meal, you can take the cable car both ways.

However, since the cable car is a facility of E‑WORLD, you need to show your park admission ticket when boarding. So be sure to purchase a park ticket to ride it~

image.png

After coming up on the cable car, besides seeing the eye‑catching Sky Drop, there's also 83 Tower's famous must‑photograph art installation: the red double‑decker bus! Next to it is a matching bus stop "SKY STATION" and a British‑style red telephone box. Isn't that just incredibly photogenic!?

image.png

You think that's all? The plaza also has the love locks that couples adore! If you've come with your significant other, you must hang a keepsake of love here! Additionally, there's a slow mail postbox not far away, where you can send postcards to the future ‑ to yourself, your lover, family, friends or anyone. How fun~

image.png

image.png

77th Floor Observatory

It's worth visiting whether during the day or at night. During the day, you can see Daegu's colourful low‑rise buildings and walk a full circle around the observatory. The glass panels also indicate the directions of famous landmarks. As for the night view, there's no need to say much ‑ you can take in the entire brightly lit Daegu city centre at a glance. Seeing such a beautiful view truly makes you feel the ticket price was well worth it!

image.png

In addition, 83 Tower is also a great spot to overlook E‑World, especially at night when the entire park lights up ‑ the view from the observatory is truly breathtaking~

image.png

The observatory also has a coffee bar and seating, perfect for sitting here with friends for an afternoon until nightfall, sipping coffee while admiring the Daegu cityscape, all while waiting for the splendour of sunset.
