Shaped by thousands of years of volcanic activity, Wai‑O‑Tapu Thermal Wonderland has emerged as one of New Zealand's most spectacular and dynamic natural wonders. This 18‑square‑kilometre geothermal paradise encompasses geysers, sulphur pools, boiling mud pools and hot springs, open all year round (including all public holidays), allowing every visitor to immerse themselves in nature's master craftsmanship and unlock the infinite charm of geothermal wonders.

When you come here, be sure to treat yourself to the visual spectacle of the Lady Knox Geyser. Every day at 10:15am, it erupts punctually, sending a 10‑20 metre column of water shooting into the sky, accompanied by billowing steam that glimmers in the sunlight – a truly breathtaking sight. As the park's most iconic attraction, this daily eruption is an exclusive gift from nature that you simply cannot miss.

Strolling along the safe elevated boardwalk feels like stepping into nature's palette. The Champagne Pool is the most dazzling, with bubbles churning on the surface like champagne froth, orange‑red mineral deposits and grey‑white sinter encircling the edge. The underwater temperature reaches 260°C, while the surface remains at 73‑75°C, with vibrant colours colliding to create breathtaking beauty. Nearby, the Devil's Bath glows with a fluorescent green hue, formed by abundant volcanic minerals, creating a fantastical tableau alongside the fiery red, hell‑like Blood Pool.

Surprises await at every turn – the boiling mud pools gurgle away, releasing the raw geothermal energy of nature; the calm waters of Rotokarikitea complement the lush green surroundings, soothing the intensity of the geothermal landscape. Professionally designed trails link all the sights, allowing you to safely enjoy the magnificent spectacle of geothermal forces reshaping the terrain and experience the wild charm of nature amidst the scent of sulphur.

When you've had enough walking, take a break at the outdoor café, enjoy some delicious snacks amidst the geothermal steam, and relax in the embrace of nature. No professional exploration experience is required – people of all ages can find joy and knowledge in the journey. Don't miss this prime opportunity to explore Rotorua's geothermal wonderland. Book your tickets now through Hopetrip, step into Wai‑O‑Tapu, and make this colourful, millennia‑old wonder an unforgettable memory of your New Zealand trip.
