Product Details

The private treasure hunt in Neuchâtel is a unique adventure combining smartphone interaction, in‑depth sightseeing and fun puzzle‑solving, allowing you to explore this charming city surrounding Switzerland's largest inland lake from a new perspective. While cracking engaging puzzles, you can not only have fun but also gain a deeper understanding of Neuchâtel's long history and rich culture, expanding your unique insights into the city.

The treasure hunt is guided by a dedicated smartphone app, perfectly blending walking tours, sightseeing and puzzle challenges. It supports multiple languages including English and French. Simply download the app and enter your booking verification code to start your journey; no additional guide is needed throughout. The average 1 to 2‑hour itinerary can be paused, rested or rerouted at any time, fully tailored to your personal preferences and pace. The route carefully links Neuchâtel's classic attractions and iconic landmarks, starting with the 11th‑century Château de Neuchâtel. This historic building perched on a hill blends Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance architectural styles. Once a noble residence and administrative centre, it now serves as the local government seat and offers panoramic views of Lake Neuchâtel and the city. The app's puzzles revolve around the castle's historical evolution, architectural details and legendary tales, gradually unlocking hidden highlights such as the Knights' Hall, the Prison Tower and the Collegiate Church as you solve them, allowing you to deeply experience the solemnity and splendour of the Middle Ages.

Next, you will follow clues into Une rue fantastique, an old town street known as the "Fantastic Alley". Its centuries‑old cobblestone pavement is lined with buildings featuring a mix of Neo‑Baroque, Renaissance and other styles. The colourful murals on the walls complement the antique doors and windows. Hidden along the alley are antique shops, local artist galleries and traditional cafés. The puzzles will guide you to closely observe the carved decorations on the buildings and the ancient signs on the doorplates, unlocking stories of craftsmen, nobles and commoners behind this street, immersing you in its rich historical atmosphere and artistic ambience.

Continuing your exploration along the old town, you will arrive at the Quai Ostervald lakefront promenade, built in 1831. This two‑century‑old promenade hugs the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, offering an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll and lake views. The calm water reflects the distant Alpine peaks and the shoreline architecture, especially captivating at sunset when golden light spills across the surface. Tasks set by the app here may include lake‑view photography challenges and quizzes about the promenade's history, letting you appreciate the natural beauty while learning about the development of this key urban waterfront space.
