This guided tour departs from Zurich and heads towards the northern border of Switzerland with Germany, passing through picturesque vineyards and tranquil, ancient villages along the way. Amidst the grandeur of nature and medieval culture, this journey offers both visual spectacle and historical charm.

The first stop is Laufen Castle, where you can get up close to the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe. You will have one hour of free time to explore this natural wonder at your own pace: take the panoramic lift for a full view of the falls, walk along the Belvedere Trail to the viewing platform above the waterfall, and feel the mighty roar of the rushing water. In summer, you can even take a boat ride to get close to the falls for a thrilling experience of the thundering water.

Then continue onward, passing by the town of Schaffhausen, where you can see the historic Munot Fortress from a distance and experience the unique character of this hilltop town. Next, you will arrive at Stein am Rhein, a medieval gem of a town. Led by a guide, you will stroll through the charming old town, where the buildings along the streets are adorned with colourful painted façades, preserving some of the oldest Renaissance murals in Switzerland. Each building is like a work of art, immersed in a strong medieval atmosphere.

At the end of the tour, free time is arranged for you to savour the town's charm, take photos, or buy souvenirs. After that, you will return to Zurich with fond memories. The whole journey perfectly combines natural landscapes, castle ambience, and medieval art and culture, with a relaxed and comfortable pace – a classic choice for exploring northern Switzerland.
