History and Culture of Korean Archery:
Traditional Korean archery, also known as Gungdo (국궁), has a history that can be traced back to the 2nd century BC. It is not merely a method of warfare but is highly esteemed for its precision and spiritual depth, playing a significant role in royal ceremonies and cultural expressions. The traditional bow, known as Jukgung (bamboo bow), features a unique asymmetrical shape that gives it exceptional power and accuracy. Today, Gungdo remains a cherished part of traditional Korean culture, a profoundly meaningful tradition that continues to connect people with Korea's rich history and cultural identity.
