Since the 18th century, Dutch stroopwafels have been a beloved Dutch specialty. Stepping into a cosy venue in Amsterdam, the aroma of caramel and freshly baked dough welcomes you, offering an authentic Dutch experience. Led by a local experienced chef, participants start from scratch to explore the world of this Dutch national snack. Through kneading, baking, and filling, you will feel the joy of craftsmanship, learn the history and techniques behind it, and enjoy a warm social session, making it a unique and wonderful experience during your trip to Amsterdam.

The core charm of the course lies in the professional teaching of the chef. A local chef familiar with the techniques passed down since the 18th century will explain and demonstrate step by step, from the golden ratio of dough preparation, to the temperature and timing control for traditional iron mould baking, and the key methods for cooking and filling caramel sauce. Even without any baking experience, you can easily master every step.

During the course, you can also enjoy the unique fun of XL handcrafting. Participants can personally make two large‑sized caramel waffles. One can be enjoyed on the spot with coffee or tea, experiencing the best freshly‑baked taste. The other will be provided with exquisite packaging, allowing you to take it home and share with family and friends.

The course is not just a simple hands‑on experience, but also a journey of exploring Dutch dessert culture. The chef will explain in detail the origin and development of caramel waffles, introduce the use of traditional making tools, and the secrets of cooking caramel sauce. This allows participants to deepen their understanding of this classic Dutch dessert while working with their hands, and learn about the lifestyle aesthetics of the Dutch accompanied by desserts.
