Kumamoto Castle, renowned as one of Japan's three great castles, and the charming castle town district of Josaien offer an ideal setting for experiencing traditional Japanese kimono and yukata. By donning these traditional garments, you can seamlessly blend into the millennium‑old castle heritage and the vibrant local atmosphere, capturing a unique retro romance that belongs only to Kumamoto.

With a wide variety of costumes tailored to the setting, from elegant kimono to refreshing yukata, there is something for everyone. The kimono are made from high‑quality fabrics and come in a range of colours such as sophisticated ink black, elegant cherry pink, and warm cream white, featuring patterns inspired by Kumamoto's local elements. Paired with exquisite hairpins, handbags, and other accessories, they exude classical charm. The yukata, on the other hand, are lightweight and breathable, with summer styles adorned with lively floral and checkered patterns, perfectly suited for both the bustling atmosphere of Josaien and the expansive views of Kumamoto Castle, making them wearable all year round.

A professional styling team will be with you throughout the process, creating a personalised look that complements your unique temperament. From adjusting garment sizes and tying the obi belt to hairstyling and accessory pairing, experienced staff will take meticulous care to ensure both aesthetics and comfort, so even first‑timers need not worry. A convenient storage service is also provided, allowing you to securely store your belongings after changing, so you can explore freely and immerse yourself in the experience.

The setting is perfectly suited for photography, delivering stunning results. Wearing the traditional attire while strolling through Kumamoto Castle, you can capture atmospheric shots against the sturdy stone walls and the historic Uto Turret. At the best viewing spot within Kato Shrine, you can frame the Tenshukaku (castle keep) in the background, creating images that blend retro elegance with solemn grandeur. Wandering through Sakura‑no‑Komichi in Josaien, the retro architecture and unique shops complement each other. You might even encounter Kumamon dressed as Kato Kiyomasa, offering a fun photo opportunity that brings out the vibrant, lively spirit of the town.

The service is flexible and convenient, catering to various itinerary needs. You can book in advance to reserve your preferred style, allowing for a quick change upon arrival. Multiple time slots are available for the experience, giving you ample time to explore, take photos, and relax. By putting on traditional attire, you can fully immerse yourself in the historic grandeur of Kumamoto Castle and the lively, down‑to‑earth atmosphere of Josaien, experiencing Kumamoto's unique charm and adding a touch of ceremony and unforgettable memories to your journey.
