Okinawa DMM Kariyushi Aquarium is an experience‑based aquarium located in Tomigusuku City, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.
It opened on 25 May 2020 on the 1st and 2nd floors of the "EEAS Okinawa Toyosaki" shopping centre, near "Chura SUN Beach". With the concept of "an aquarium beyond an aquarium", it covers an area of 6,937.9 square metres, featuring approximately 60 tanks, a total water volume of about 900 tonnes, and displays around 190 species totalling about 5,000 creatures.
The aquarium not only showcases subtropical and tropical marine life, plants and animals primarily from Okinawa, but also utilises the latest imaging technology and sound systems to offer a "real ocean experience", striving to create an entertainment space that blends reality and virtuality. Visitors can get up close to animals such as sloths, otters and penguins, and participate in feeding experiences. In addition, the aquarium features several special exhibition areas, including "Virtual Ashibina", "Jellyfish Yonna", and "Yambaru Forest", which provide unique visual enjoyment through the fusion of imagery, light and sound.
It takes about 20 minutes to drive to this aquarium from Naha Airport, and it is also accessible by public transportation.
