The first stop is the National Palace Museum, one of the largest museums in the world, housing nearly 700,000 pieces of ancient Chinese artefacts and artworks, showcasing 8,000 years of Chinese art history spanning multiple dynasties. Afterwards, you will visit Dadaocheng, where tradition and modernity converge. The cafes and shops along the streets and alleys evoke a sense of nostalgia. At the heart of Dadaocheng is Dihua Street, which was the most prosperous area of Taipei over a hundred years ago. Even now, it remains a popular spot for purchasing dried goods and herbal medicines. Every year, the New Year Street Bazaar is held on Dihua Street, bustling with people preparing for the Lunar New Year. Today, the streets and lanes are lined with traditional shops, while stylish cafes and mini art galleries are nestled within well‑preserved historic buildings, exuding a vintage vibe. Afterwards, the historical theme continues with a visit to the Taipei City Wall ‑ North Gate (Cheng'en Gate). This magnificent city gate, together with the East Gate, West Gate, South Gate and Small South Gate, is one of the five ancient city gates of Taipei from the Qing Dynasty. Having walked through Taipei's significant historical sites, you will surely have gained a good understanding of the city's history and development. Your next stop will showcase Taipei's modernity and diversity. Proceed to Ximending Commercial District, one of Taipei's busiest shopping areas, filled with retail stores, restaurants, bars and street performers. It is very popular among young people, thus also known as Taipei's version of Harajuku. After lunch at Ximending, you will visit Longshan Temple to experience Taiwan's religious activities, where locals go to pray for blessings or seek inner peace. Built in 1738, the temple is dedicated to Guanyin (the Goddess of Mercy). During the Taipei air raids, the temple was severely damaged, but the statue of Guanyin survived the bombings. You can pray for yourself and your family, or even try to consult the deities by casting divination blocks. Next, you will head to Chiang Kai‑shek Memorial Hall, a monument dedicated to former President Chiang Kai‑shek. The final stop of the itinerary is Taipei 101 Mall. From luxury brands to fast fashion, and from Michelin‑starred restaurants to food courts, you can find something to suit your taste here. The renowned skyscraper stands next to the shopping mall. It is one of the tallest buildings in the world, and the observation deck on the 89th floor offers a magnificent panoramic view of Taipei City. After the tour, you can choose to get off at Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT Station or Raohe Street Night Market.
