JR Pass is only applicable to non‑Japanese passport holders with a "Temporary Visitor" visa. Non‑Japanese passport holders with permanent residency in Japan are not eligible.

Please obtain a "Temporary Visitor" stamp/sticker upon entry to legally use the JR Pass. Using automated gates will prevent you from obtaining the above stamp/sticker.

Adult: Aged 12 and above. *Adults or children with a rail pass may bring up to 2 infants (aged 1‑5) free of charge.

Infants under 1 year old can enter for free.

Upon completion of booking, a confirmation letter will be sent to the email address you provided.

Please go to the green ticket machine and scan the QR code on the electronic ticket and your non‑Japanese passport to collect the physical ticket.

Please use the physical ticket to pass through the automatic ticket gates.

The machine's operation interface can be displayed in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or Korean.

Important notes for exchanging JR West Rail Pass reserved seat tickets

The number of times different passes can be exchanged for reserved seat tickets varies; please check the product page for details.

Please check each product page to confirm which trains are eligible for reserved seat booking.

Reserved seats for the rail pass must be exchanged separately (booked at the green ticket machine or counter).

When the allocated reserved seat count is used up, or if you have not exchanged for a reserved seat ticket in advance, you can directly use the rail pass to board non‑reserved seats.

Reserved seat tickets can be exchanged an unlimited number of times, but from the 7th exchange onwards, reservations must be made at the staffed counter; the machine cannot be used.

The Hokuriku Area Pass is valid for unlimited travel within the effective area shown on the map.

Valid trains are as follows:

Non‑reserved seats on the Hokuriku Shinkansen (Kanazawa ⇔ Kurobe Unazuki Onsen)

Non‑reserved seats on limited express trains such as "THUNDERBIRD"

Rapid and local trains on JR West regular lines

The following trains cannot be used

Hokuriku Shinkansen (Kurobe Unazuki Onsen ⇔ Tokyo)

Not valid on IR Ishikawa Railway or AINOKAZE Toyama Railway.

As a special exception, if the pass holder does not alight at IR Ishikawa Railway (Kanazawa ⇔ Tsubata) or AINOKAZE Toyama Railway (Takaoka ⇔ Toyama), the pass can be used on the Himi Line, Johana Line, or Nanao Line.

Limited express trains can be used on IR Ishikawa Railway (Kanazawa ⇔ Tsubata).

When boarding the AINOKAZE Liner rapid train on the AINOKAZE Toyama Railway, a separate "Liner fee" must be paid.
