Huakai Haishang Ecological Park is located on the west side of Zhujing Town, Jinshan District, Shanghai, bordering the scenic Xiuzhou Pond to the north. The park consists of a flower sea, a plum garden, a cherry blossom garden, and an autumn scenery garden. It is a flower‑themed park integrating science education, display, sightseeing, and recreation.

The Plum Garden comprises three distinctive small gardens: Meixi Xiangling, Meiying Qujing, and Meigong Tanmei. There are over 10 elevated plum blossom viewing spots such as Shuying Slope, Ningxiang Terrace, and Yanyu Pavilion. Additionally, unique small bridges have been built here, with winding garden paths and lush lawns on the islands, while Meixi Stream meanders gently. The garden features a wide variety of plum blossoms, including five major categories such as Gongfen, Zhusha, Lv'e, Jiangmei, and Meirenmei, with over 3,000 trees and more than 60 early, mid, and late blooming varieties, mainly in white, pink, and red colours. The viewing period runs from mid‑February to mid‑to‑late March.

The Cherry Blossom Garden is made up of Yinghua Mei, Haitang Wu, and Yulan Ting. Mountain cherry, early cherry, late cherry, crabapple, beauty plum, and Erqiao magnolia compete to be the island's highlight, with winding, undulating paths connecting nine islands. Streams encircle the islands, water ripples among the flowers, and whispers softly linger. Viewed from above, it resembles the colourful wings of a butterfly, ready to take flight. The viewing period is from mid‑March to mid‑to‑late April.

The Flower Sea consists of 19 petal‑shaped islets, Huaxian Ridge, Huaman Slope, Huazhi Dance, Huaying Path, and Huaxiu. The spring flower sea mainly features over 30 flower varieties, including corn poppy, cornflower, dwarf catchfly, tall catchfly, baby blue eyes, lupine, baby's breath, and more, with a viewing period from mid‑April to mid‑May; the autumn flower sea includes over 10 varieties such as Galsang flower (cosmos and sulphur cosmos), summer cypress, Mexican sage, zinnia, globe amaranth, and sunflower, with a viewing period from late September to mid‑October.

The Autumn Scenery Garden is composed of Maple Forest Path, Maple Leaf Island, Starry Lawn, Knight's Paradise, and Qiufeng Pavilion. The garden is planted with over 20 species of autumn‑coloured trees, such as various Japanese maple cultivars, Norway maple, American red maple, variegated trident maple, sawleaf zelkova, soapberry, Chinese tallow, Chinese pistache, winged spindle, sweetgum, smoketree, persimmon, Chinese elm, and bigleaf zelkova. It is also adorned with numerous sweet osmanthus varieties in orange, golden, and silver colours, as well as various ornamental grasses. The viewing period is from mid‑November to mid‑to‑late December.

In addition to the beautiful scenery, Huakai Haishang Ecological Park also offers a variety of exciting experience activities for visitors to enjoy their leisure time.
