Product Details

In the azure waters of Sabah, Malaysia, Semporna's Mabul Island and Kapalai Island shine like two dazzling pearls, attracting global travellers to explore their enchanting island scenery and world‑class snorkelling experiences. This sea area boasts a unique marine ecological environment, offering an unforgettable underwater feast for snorkelling enthusiasts.930-2.jpg

Mabul Island is a destination that combines rustic fishing village charm with stunning marine landscapes. The waters around the island are crystal clear with excellent visibility. The seabed terrain is diverse, ranging from shallow shores to coral reef areas, nurturing countless colourful marine creatures. As you put on your snorkelling gear and dive into the water, the first sight is coral of various shapes, blossoming like flowers on the seabed—some stretching like antlers, others spreading like discs, swaying gently with the caress of the sea. Amidst them, tropical fish such as clownfish and butterflyfish swim in schools, their agile movements and vibrant colours complementing each other, creating vivid underwater paintings. The island is also home to the Bajau Laut, indigenous sea nomads whose unique lifestyle adds a cultural dimension to a trip to Mabul Island. After snorkelling, visitors can step onto the island, stroll along wooden walkways, soak in the simple fishing village atmosphere, taste fresh seafood just caught by local fishermen, and appreciate the unique charm of Mabul Island in the salty sea breeze and the warmth of daily life.930-4.jpg

Although Kapalai Island is not a traditional island but an overwater resort built on a coral reef, this does not diminish its status as a snorkelling paradise. The resort is surrounded by coral reefs stretching for kilometres, where the marine ecosystem is complete and unique, serving as a habitat for numerous marine creatures. Snorkellers here feel as if they have entered a dreamlike underwater kingdom. Countless unknown fish dart among the coral clusters, and occasionally you might encounter graceful sea turtles swimming by, their endearing appearance bringing a smile to your face. Even more surprising is the exceptional water clarity around Kapalai Island; sunlight filters through the clear water, casting shifting light and shadows on the seabed, making the colours of the coral and fish even more dazzling. Even beginners, under the guidance of professional instructors, can easily float on the surface and closely observe the rich underwater landscape. Additionally, Kapalai Island's overwater wooden chalets feature a unique and romantic architectural style. After snorkelling, guests can return to their cosy chalets, relax on the veranda, and enjoy the spectacular sunrise and sunset over the sea, experiencing a moment of serene beauty.930-3.jpg

A snorkelling trip to Mabul Island and Kapalai Island typically includes professional snorkelling gear rental and experienced instructors providing full guidance. Whether you are a seasoned snorkelling expert or a first‑timer, you can enjoy the fun of snorkelling to the fullest with safety ensured. The itinerary also features special meals, allowing visitors to taste local delicacies and replenish their energy after the activity.930-1.jpg

Departing from the town of Semporna by speedboat, enjoying the sparkling sea surface and the varied islands along the way, you will soon arrive at Mabul Island and Kapalai Island. This snorkelling journey, combining stunning seascapes, a wonderful underwater world, and unique cultural experiences, not only allows visitors to feel the magic and majesty of nature but also creates unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. It is an excellent choice for exploring the charm of the ocean and relaxing both the body and mind.930-5.jpg
