Republic of Singapore (English: Republic of Singapore; Malay: Republik Singapura;), commonly known as Singapore, also known as Xinjiapo, Xingjiapo, Xingjiapo, Lion City, Xingzhou, Xingguo, is an island country and city-state located in Southeast Asia, at the southernmost tip of the Indochina Peninsula. Singapore consists of 63 islands including Singapore Island, covering an area of 728 square kilometres. Due to its high degree of greenery, it is known as the "Garden City".
