City introduction

Inverness

Inverness is located in the north of Scotland and is the capital of the Highlands, known as 'the most northerly city in the UK'. It is the starting point for exploring the mystery of the Loch Ness Monster. Must-visit attractions include Loch Ness (where you can take a boat to search for monster traces and visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle), the red sandstone landmark Inverness Castle, the Culloden Battlefield site, and the mysterious Clava Cairns. The cuisine is predominantly Scottish, with the national dish Haggis paired with whisky sauce offering a unique flavour, smoked salmon being fresh and tender, and local whisky and craft beer worth tasting.
