Palawan Island
Palawan is a long, narrow island in the southwestern part of the Philippines, often called “the last ecological frontier of Southeast Asia”. Its core attraction is the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New7Wonders of Nature, where visitors can take a boat to explore an 8.2-kilometre underground cave system and marvel at fantastic stalactites. El Nido is famous for its limestone cliffs and turquoise lagoons, while Coron Island is a top wreck diving destination. The Tubbataha Reefs, on the other hand, are the ultimate paradise for diving enthusiasts. Must-try local foods include freshly caught grilled seafood, tree worms (Tomilok), Lechon (roasted suckling pig), coconut curry shrimp, and coconut ice cream — all fresh and bursting with tropical flavours.
