Iloilo Province
Iloilo Province is located on Panay Island in the Visayas, with its capital Iloilo City being a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. The landmark Miagao Church is a World Heritage Site, with its façade carvings blending indigenous and Spanish styles. Molo Church, known as the 'feminist church' due to its all-female saints, is also notable. Guimaras Island is famous for its sweet mangoes and is ideal for island hopping and snorkelling. The Iloilo River Esplanade is a great leisure spot. The most renowned local dish is La Paz Batchoy, a rich pork noodle soup with crispy pork cracklings; other dishes include Pancit Molo (wonton soup), KBL stew (kadios, baboy, and langka - pigeon peas, pork, and jackfruit), and sweet grilled scallops.
