Höfn (Hofn)
Höfn (also known as Hofn) is a fishing town in southeastern Iceland, renowned as the 'Lobster Capital of Iceland' and the gateway to exploring Vatnajökull National Park. The town lies between Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull, and the Atlantic Ocean. Nearby must-visit attractions include Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and the Diamond Beach on the opposite shore, where millennia-old blue ice scatters across the black sand beach, creating a dreamlike scene. Vestrahorn Mountain and the Stokksnes Peninsula are photography hotspots. The culinary highlight is the Norway lobster (Icelandic lobster), with lobster soup, grilled lobster tail, and lobster pizza being the town's signatures, while fresh cod and king crab are also exceptionally delicious.
