Daejeon

Located in the central region of South Korea, Daejeon is the country's fifth-largest city and a technology hub, often referred to as the 'Silicon Valley of Korea'. Yuseong Hot Springs within the city have a long history and are a renowned hot spring resort area. Gyeryongsan Mountain features steep and unique terrain, with stunning red autumn leaves. Saejeo Lake offers beautiful scenery, ideal for walking and relaxation. The 1993 Daejeon Expo Park retains a science museum and a Ferris wheel. The local cuisine blends central Korean flavours; Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) is nourishing and delicious, Daejeon-style galbi (ribs) are sweet and spicy, and dishes like bibimbap, dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken), and gopchang jeongol (beef tripe hot pot) are very popular. Moreover, as a city of science and education, it is dotted with street-side cafes and specialty snack shops, exuding a vibrant atmosphere.
