Ishigaki

Ishigaki is the southernmost city in Japan and the seat of the Yaeyama branch office. Its population ranks 10th among municipalities in Okinawa Prefecture. In recent years, there has been a growing trend of people relocating to the island for snorkelling and surfing. Recommended attractions: Kabira Bay (one of Japan's top 100 scenic spots), the World Cup Triathlon (April), and the Yaeyama Classical Folk Song Competition (October).
