Beppu City is a city located in the central part of Oita Prefecture, Japan, and is the second largest city in Oita Prefecture. Adjacent cities include Oita City, Usa City, Yufu City, and Hiji Town, with only a mountain separating it from Oita City, the prefectural capital, and just a 15-minute train ride away. Known as Beppu Hatto, the Beppu Hot Springs consist of eight hot spring districts, each with its own unique characteristics. Each independent hot spring resort features many modern and well-equipped hot spring baths and Japanese inns, where visitors can enjoy bathing facilities and stay overnight.
