Kawachinagano, Osaka
Kawachinagano is a mountainous city located in the southeastern part of Osaka Prefecture, renowned for Chūson-ji Temple and the autumn leaves of Kawachinagano. Chūson-ji Temple is a sacred site of Japanese Shingon Buddhism with a history spanning over a thousand years, featuring the stately Kannon-dō Hall and three-storied pagoda. In autumn, the Nagano Valley is covered with vibrant red leaves, making it a hidden gem for autumn foliage viewing in Kansai. The Kawachinagano Onsen offers soothing and comfortable relaxation. The local cuisine, most representative of rural flavours, includes Kawachinagano soba noodles (handmade and refreshing), wild vegetable dishes, grilled eel, chestnut rice, maple leaf-shaped steamed buns, and local sake, all fresh and delicious throughout the four seasons.
