Mishima City is the gateway to the Izu Peninsula, where the views of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay complement each other. Mishima Taisha Shrine is the head shrine of Izu Province, with a long history and splendid architecture. From Mishima Station, you can easily travel to various hot spring resorts in Izu. The local cuisine is famous for Mishima unagi (eel) rice, raised with Mount Fuji’s water, offering clean flesh with no muddy taste; Shizuoka’s Mount Fuji, Mishima dried radish, strawberries and other fruits, along with local dishes, are authentically flavoured.
