Odawara
Odawara is located in the western part of Kanagawa Prefecture and serves as the gateway to Hakone, offering a blend of mountain and sea scenery along with historical heritage. The landmark Odawara Castle was the residence of the Hojo clan during the Sengoku period, with the keep housing historical artefacts, and the castle park planted with 300 cherry blossom trees, making it one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots. The Enoura Observatory offers panoramic views of Sagami Bay and the Hakone Mountains. The Minaka Odawara Observatory Foot Bath allows visitors to enjoy a soak in a hot spring while overlooking the cityscape. As the 'home of kamaboko', the must-try delicacies include Odawara kamaboko (fish cake), Odawara oden (with plum miso broth), Sagami Bay seafood, charcoal-grilled skewers, and citrus desserts, offering a unique flavour.
