City introduction

Deyang

Deyang is a major base for heavy technical equipment manufacturing in China and also one of the birthplaces of ancient Shu civilisation. Key attractions include the Sanxingdui Museum (a world-shocking bronze civilisation, with the bronze sacred tree and the protruding-eye masks unveiling the mysteries of ancient Shu), the Deyang Confucius Temple (the largest Confucius temple in Southwest China, rich in Confucian cultural atmosphere), and the Yinghua Mountain (a summer retreat, snow-viewing in winter, with forests and waterfalls scattered across the area). The cuisine is rich and hearty: Lianshan Twice-Cooked Pork is fatty but not greasy, oily and fragrant; Shifang Pressed Duck is savoury and flavourful; Xiaoquan Juice Beef is tender and soft; Deyang Rice Noodles and Zhongjiang Hanging Noodles are everyday delicacies, embodying both the solidity of an industrial city and the delicacy of western Sichuan cuisine.
