Zigong
Zigong is known as the 'Home of Dinosaurs and the Salt Capital of Lanterns', famous for its three unique treasures: 'Salt, Dinosaurs, and Lanterns'. Must-visit attractions include the Zigong Dinosaur Museum (one of the world's three major dinosaur遗址 museums, featuring awe-inspiring巨型 dinosaur fossils), the China Lantern World (a spectacular光影 feast with millions of lantern displays around the Chinese New Year), and the Shenhai Well (the world's first超千米 deep well, showcasing ancient salt-making techniques). The local cuisine represents the spicy and numbing Salt Gang food culture. Boiled beef in chili sauce is tender and hot, cold rabbit is addictive with its spicy and numbing flavour, and the more you eat, the more you crave. Fushun tofu pudding is served with a rich dipping sauce, while Huobianzi beef is as thin as paper with a unique texture. Both snacks and main dishes embody the distinctive flavours of southern Sichuan.
