City introduction

Xiaogan

The name of Xiaogan City originates from the Eastern Han Dynasty filial son Dong Yong, who sold himself to bury his father, moving heaven and earth with his filial piety, earning it the reputation of “Home of Filial Piety Culture”. Key attractions include Dong Yong Park (a filial piety-themed park featuring scenes from the legend of the Seventh Fairy and Dong Yong), Shuangfeng Mountain Tourism Resort (the highest peak in northeastern Hubei, offering forest and mountain scenery), and Tangchi Hot Spring (a relaxing spa destination). Local delicacies include Xiaogan sesame candy, which is sweet, fragrant, and crispy; Xiaogan rice wine, which is mellow and sweet; hot soup noodles (hutang fen) paired with fried dough sticks; and Yunmeng fish noodles, which can be boiled or stir-fried, offering a unique texture.
